And California makes it really difficult to figure out what you need. They were originally only requiring one piece of address identification so all of the real IDs they had already issued may have been recalled. Then April 1, you needed to have two pieces but my local DMV started implementing that early without any

Many universities waive or subsidize the application fees based on income. SAT and ACT do the same.

The rest of it is true, but what is wrong with applying for university? Shouldn’t they want the best and the brightest?

Yes, at one time that tipped wage was half the minimum wage. In 1995 I made $2.13 + tips and the minimum wage was $4.25. Even at a cheap diner, I was making out better than my friends working at Target or Blockbuster for minimum wage. I don’t know why they didn’t tie it to minimum wage, but they also never tied

Can’t wait to print these out for my 4 year old. It’s taken ages for me to get her to say “vulva” instead of calling everything in that general region her “butt” (or booty butt as my toddlers prefer). But my 2 year old grasped it quite quickly. He has a penis like daddy, his sister has a vulva like mommy. (He’s going

That’s what we do too. at least two walks a day, one is about a mile and the other is probably a little more than a half mile. We used to do a few more of the shorter walks but work is hard to get away from lately.

My husband was recently unemployed and he was ghosted by SO many companies, even the ones where he interviewed in person. It was disheartening to know he didn’t even merit a “no thank you.”

We’re southern California residents (I even work in Anaheim) but we’re still not ready to take our 2 and 4 year olds. It’s just SO expensive (over $100 per person just to get in). But I have lots of mom-friends that are annual passholders and go all the time (especially if they are SAHMs). I recommend checking out the

so basically just run a slightly slower pace for a relatively short distance?  I guess I don’t really see the purpose. It doesn’t feel like that slower pace would ever be “hard”. I understand the ramp up and cool down version maybe?

I highly recommend buying these items at consignment sales or through local buy-sell groups.  I can’t imagine spending $80 on that cube (or $68 as Amazon apparently sells it for). There were 7 of them at the last consignment sale I went to, priced from $25 to $35 and all in near perfect condition. I see the other toys

You’re precocious, we didn’t do it till 5th grade. May have been a symptom of a bad homeroom teacher.

Wow, I gotta hang on to “asbestos lips” until it comes in handy in conversation.

I collected eraser dust too! I’d even buy erasers specifically to make dust and store it in tupperware containers like colored sand.

I agree. I found her via the imperfect produce rant but I've learned a ton about corporate farms and other interesting related topics.

the one 5.5 they had in the store was an Asics but it was actually a bit tight. And then they didn’t have a 6 in it. I tried the 6 in the Brooks I ended up buying but it felt too big at the time. Now I know better and after one pair of 5.5, I moved up to 6. The only good thing about wearing a size on the extreme end

Going up a size in running shoes is great for me. I usually wear a women's 5 or 5.5 which is very hard to find and the running store recommended a 5.5, but I prefer a 6, a size that's almost always in stock. Whereas when I tried a 5.5, they had one pair in the whole store.

It’s nice to hear we’re doing it right. My 2 and 4 year old only get one bath a week most weeks. In the summer, we’re hosing them down after swimming but in the winter one is enough. We just don’t have time every evening, bedtime is late enough already.

Our local Domino’s started adding a surcharge for “cost increases” without any specification. I think they are stuck with corporate prices that they can’t adjust so they’re trying to increase their margins elsewhere and no one seems to notice.

I recommend looking around for the earlier models of whatever shoe they end up recommending. I love my Brooks adrenalines, recommended by a specialty store that analyzed my gait. But they didn’t have them in my size so I needed to order them anyway. Instead of getting GTS-18, I found a pair of GTS-17 and GTS-16. Now
