Pretty similar to the list I had when I changed my name, but I still find things that are wrong, seven years later. The ones that I forgot about or still haven’t managed to fix:

I definitely recommend all the easy to eat food. I put together a breastfeeding basket for a new mom (who unfortunately had stopped nursing well before we managed to find a time to comemeet the new baby). I included a giant water bottle, lots of larabars and quick snacks, and a back-up battery for her phone or tablet

My university marching band used to play the mash up version when the other team got penalized, but they stopped after the whole Gary Glitter/pedophile thing. I hadn’t heard this version of it and always wondered why we called it “Doctor Who” since it didn’t sound like the Doctor Who theme to me at all.

Never needed this, but man, you should write about the beauty of the Nose Frida. Both kids have been snot monsters and this thing is the best thing for it. A little saline spray, a little nose sucking, and suddenly the kid can nurse again. I had a bad cold recently and I totally wished I could nose frida myself.

I pay $84/month by myself on a 2005 toyota Matrix for full coverage. I must be doing something wrong. What’s your annual mileage?

A good nursing pillow definitely makes a world of difference. I took it with me to the hospital both times. Side lying was great but it took me months to figure it out with baby #1. With baby #2, I was doing it in the hospital.

I like driving for post mates, food delivery feels a little safer. Plus I have two car seats so I can’t do uber or lyft anyway. I ride share on my commute with waze.

Exactly what I thought when I read the headline

I joined an engineering sorority in college and I’m still close to other members of the organization. There were so few women in my classes 20 years ago it was nice to have a social and professional group of compatriots. But we were left out of traditional Greek life because we had separate recruitment and no house.

We only let the 2.5 year old watch Super Simple Songs on YouTube. She loves it, sings along, dances. Better than yet another episode of sofia the first.

This only seems to work in certain venues. We definitely never had it as an option and we looked at a ton of venues. Maybe if we’d had a bigger budget. We offered a limited selection of beer and wine (a keg of Guinness, a keg of hefeweissen, and three types of wine) and the venue had a full cash bar for everyone what.

I would say that to most people $11k is a LOT of money. It sounds like you had a great time and focused on your priorities which is definitely the way to go when keeping wedding expenses down.

I’d be very worried about affecting my supply if I went “part-time” with breastfeeding too soon in the journey. I’m glad I was able to keep up exclusive breastfeeding (i.e. no formula) for the first year with both kids. I wouldn’t have balked at formula, I just didn’t want the added expense. Fed is best, right? With

We have it everywhere in Southern California.

Alexa told me that joke.

I think it only works for me if there’s a chance I’ll win some money too. I started using diet bet after an online mom-friend told me about it. That led to step bet. Now I’m also in a beta group for sweat bet. You have to time lapse record yourself doing the assigned workouts. It’s humbling and motivating in ways I

This is awesome. I was a hard-core teacher pleaser and ended up being labeled a know-it-all, which was pretty tough in junior high and high school. Then I hit college and suddenly it was much harder to 1) get called on and 2) feel confident in my answer. So I just shut up and it was probably part of the reason my

As much as I wanted to share with my family, my husband really wanted to wait until we were in the second trimester so I respected his wishes. We also told almost no one about our struggles with infertility and that was much tougher. My mother-in-law and father-in-law still have no idea and my sister-in-law only knows

I did pretty well at the pop up consignment sale. I sold $300 worth of stuff (about half what I tagged) and made 65% of that total, so I got a check for $200. I also donated everything else so that’ll be a nice write-off that’s already monetized for easy tax purposes. I spent $92 myself but with 2 kids they’ll always

Did you order from a restaurant that was far away? Just the length of time it takes to drive from restaurant to your house may be part of why it was cold. An insulated bag can only do so much. And 80 minutes includes time for the driver to get to the restaurant, place the order, wait for them to make the food, and
