If only it had worked . . .I set up one and signed up for a bunch of contests for baby products while on maternity leave but I just got so tired of re-tweeting and liking things and never won.

Thank you for posting this, I’m definitely going to take a look at these when my 13 month old is a little older. For now, she just has to listen to good old NPR or maybe the Dave Ramsey Show.
Another vote for Stitcher. Easy to use and works on the phone or on the internet. I can save my favorites and group them by type.
SO MUCH THIS! I’m from a small town in Ohio and everyone roots for Notre Dame, Michigan, or Ohio State except that not a single one of them went to college. Or if they did go, they went to Miami U. or University of Cincinnati (and probably didn’t graduate.)
So most of these are 2013 and/or 2016? I’m trying to get an upgrade to 2013 but there are some flashy things about it I don’t love. What I DO love is that you can turn on/off items in a chart without adding/deleting them. I hear that 2016 will finally be able to create histograms and box-whisker plots.
Seems pretty helpful, another site like wedding wire but with some hard numbers instead of just $, $$, $$$, and $$$$. My wedding venue was missing from the site and so was every other site I looked at but there are some I would have possibly considered five years ago. It’s not easy to plan for just 80 people, many…
Yes, you would pay $2,000 in federal taxes. But you’d also pay state income tax (about 10% for me) and self-employment tax of 15.3%. So every extra dollar I earn on the side really nets me less than fifty cents. I’d still rather have the 50 cents than not have it.
Paid Family Leave (six weeks long) covers people who adopt or are caring for an ill relative. It’s typically the second six weeks for women who have a live birth, their first six weeks (and up to four weeks before birth) is covered by Pregnancy Disability Leave. Both are paid by State Disability at 55% and PFL…
I don’t know ANY women who work for companies that provide paid leave but maybe that’s because I’m in California and we have state short-term disability that pays for Pregnancy Disability Leave and Paid Family Leave. I think other people might purchase short-term disability insurance that pays out for maternity leave.…
B of A has been a lot better than Chase for me. B of A always catches fraud on my accounts and goes out of their way to make sure and protect me. Chase has opened fraudulent credit cards in my name and I have had to close and reopen my account twice in two years due to fraud. And this last time they kept forgetting…
December 30 is the worst. Everyone is already going out the next night so they don’t want to go out that day. Any day between Christmas and New year’s sucks because you never get a party as a kid. Everyone was out of town. And you get combo presents. I feel awful that my own daughter was born in December too but at…
I love my FSA. I used it to pay for lasik back when you could set aside $5K/year. Last year, it paid for my hospital bill for childbirth. I actually put aside a little too much because my bill was only for 2 days and I planned for three, but I’ll always need new glasses that cost more than my vision insurance covers…
Yeah, they just crawl through those lots writing tickets. I got a fix-it ticket for not having new stickers yet because they got lost in the mail and had to send secondary stickers. The cop called it in to check that I’d paid my registration but still gave me the ticket. I had to drive to a CHP office to get it…
It’s just a meet up where the moms that are really into babywearing bring their carriers and let you try them out or assist you with one you already own. I joined a couple facebook groups when I desperately needed to get out of the house and the first meeting/playdate I attended was amazing. They helped me adjust the…
I LOVE the Merlin. We were using swaddle sacks but when she started rolling she would just roll to the edge of the crib and bang herself awake or get her little legs stuck. The Merlin gave us another few months of blissful slumber, oh how I miss that. Now she’s awake every 2-3 hours.
tiny squishes that can’t hold their head tend to do best in a soft wrap type (solly, moby, k’tan) and once they are a little bigger you can move on to a soft-structured carrier like an ergo, tula, beco, lillebaby, or kinderpack. Some people love wraps and stick with woven wraps or ring slings forever but it was too…
I’m not knocking the ergo, but you should go to a babywearing group play date and try out lots of carriers. I started in an ergo and it works fine but I LOVE my new Tula. It just depends what works best for you and baby.
Sandra Boynton books are a lot of fun. http://www.amazon.com/Sandra-Boynton…
We really love our little stick vac from Hoover. Everyone in the family has one, great to keep the play area clean since our baby puts everything in her mouth these days. http://hoover.com/products/detai…
I love the Up&Up diapers. My husband is really into name brands so I buy Huggies Snug & Dry for home and Up&Up for daycare. When Target had their last big sale (gift cards for buying diapers on top of gift cards for buying $200 of baby stuff) I got 1,000 diapers for about $100.
