Yeah, the plot of WW1984 also suspiciously resembled Superman II (1980) where Supes gives up his power to live as a normal man in order to be with Lois Lane. And no one screams about how Superman gave it all up for the love of his life.

For a movie that was big-budget and released basically for free on Christmas (with a free trial that I’m planning to cancel), I don’t get all the complaints about it. It’s not like anyone spent a ton of money to watch it or made a huge complicated plan for it. You watched a brand new movie on your couch. Why get angry

I can’t believe Hazel Cills said Max was “uninteresting.” He was both hammy evil AND sympathetic, having this story arc about not wanting to look like a failure in front of his son. Pedro Pascal’s Max Lord manages to be a compelling antagonist while still being an old school movie super villain. Villains in modern

I liked it a lot. I prefer a convoluted plot over a simplistic plot any day. Max Lord was a complicated bad guy. All the performances were great.

BFD. Code-switching. Most of us who are multilingual end up remembering words in one language and forgetting it in the other on a regular basis. The brain does not sharply delineate at all times, and certain influences can leave a more marked impact in the vocabulary of one language or another.

Same. I just try to remember that Tom Holland is the cute, young kid, while Tom Hollander is the one who’s the best part of any show/movie he’s in.

I have mini food processor (1.5 cups) and I use it for making pesto and hummus, sometimes chopping nuts.

I have a full size one I think I’ve used 3 times, but I use the mini one pretty regularly.

Pressure cooking has lasting usage and the electric ones make it so you dont have to fiddle or keep time so I think those will be around for awhile. Sous-vide is a bit silly for home use but you can get the stick ones that store in a cabinet so I can see it being useful to keep around. Air fryers take up a lot of room

Shouldnt be so surprised to see so many snowflakes during winter times, I guess but still

Think what you want about the Marvel movies but Chris Evans is set for 20 lifetimes just from his pay from those movies, so I dunno if those were a bad choice for him.

TBF, I think Chris Pratt - “rumored” Republican and member of a notoriously anti-gay church - is probably the Chick-Fil-A of Chrises.

What makes me angry is that some business owners are too stupid to realize that extending this benefit has probably saved your company a ton of money in the long run, both because of lost work time and the inevitable turnover. Turnover alone can cost a company 50-75% more in business cost that year than keeping a

There is no person I hate more than Yertle the Evil Turtle. I feel physical fury and repulsion whenever I see his picture. It’s so bad that I actually feel distressed by how much I hate him. Like, I wish I hated him less so I wouldn’t have to feel this way. It’s just another of the many ways his existence has

This comment is why we shouldn't have the death penalty at all.

What kind of argument is that? I have never experienced it personally, so therefor it must not be true?

There are so many, many things worse on television than, say, The Undoing and The Hobbit. If these are the worst of what you’ve watched this year, you probably haven’t watched a great variety of shows and movies.

The RENT movie came out my senior year of college; I was a huge theater nerd, and my (lunatic, drug addict) roommate was a voice major. The two of us had some wine, went to the only theater nearby that sold cocktails, proceeded to slowly get smashed, and drunkenly sang along with most of the songs, which was great

Once upon a time, my best friend (a guy, completely platonic) got married. Then I got a real, grown up job. These unrelated events found me trying to catch up to years of generous gift giving from a guy who had a real grown up job for a lot longer. (He got me my first vibrator, which I know seems to make it seem not

I’m not proud, but this is anonymous so...
