I had kind of assumed it would be removed for good some time in the early teens (12-14), when kids are less likely to just ~wander off~ and then have no idea how to come back.

What if it were made illegal after some age in the early teens? Like, once your kid turns 14 you're legally required to have the chip removed/deactivated?

Ohhh. Someone else replied to you taking you seriously so my brain was like "bleurp" (the sound of a brain being lazy and suctioning on to wrong context).

I was *that kid* but I also have unusually severe ADD. To this day I don't know if the brightness + the learning disability balanced me out or just made it all worse. If my life was a movie, "imposter syndrome" would be the effin' title.

Hey, just do what my family does! Be smart people who are also highly likely to pass on a genetic learning disability along with the intelligence! It's hard to be arrogant about your giftedness when it's also nakedly obvious that you're weird as hell.

In my state, I'll be 47! Probably still working! I just have to never, ever move out of Maryland.

And so are the swimsuits!

oh COME ON, Sweden.

I'm from Maryland and this story literally made my night.

I've gotta confess, I'm allergic to most raw fruit so I'm just so unaccustomed to the taste of fruit acid that it pretty much all tastes horribly sour to me. I can eat berries without reacting, but I have to put a LOT of sugar on then first.

I fail to see how it is compassionate for them to not have kids. We don't know if their conditions are genetic - many causes of intersex conditions are not. Also, these conditions are only "potentially grievous" because others are intolerant - they're not problems in and of themselves. You sound like people who

AHHH at first I thought that was a hand.

First of all, I am a serious hard core empiricist, so don't you level that climate change denial shit at me like I've got anything to do with it. Second, I listen to Kpop. Now that we've got that out of the way:

Dude, no. The vast majority of people who get pregnant identify as female, but sweeping statements like this are just rude.

Naw, I think all high school girls are capable of behavior like this even if they don't act on it - especially underclassmen. The prefrontal cortex is still a bit mushy and we often don't think about how our actions will make other people feel at that age. But some people are more impulsively cruel and less willing

"if it has escalated to the point where she is saying "go away", you are being a total creep."

"if that's an aspen grove, it's all actually one organism! How cool is that!"

I think [many] feminists [who are aggressive in this particular way] are the biggest shitheads ever, and I am a feminist, and I am a female person. It's perfectly possible to agree with a cause while thinking its activists are assholes, but if you can't bear to be around them for long enough to go on a protest march
