Now now, don't assume I'm taking any fanboy stance just because of what my console buying plans are. My feet are firmly on the ground and I favor whichever platform gives me the best experience. (Aside: This generally discounts PC because I highly favor the solidity that is really only possible on a

Just an observation. In the SNES days, Western game development was still very down & out, having been essentially stillborn by the way the market worked in the 2600 era. I grew up firmly believing that, ~1980ish arcade classics notwithstanding, Western game devs were inherently incapable, on the whole, of creating

Actually, the character design in that game is so bad that I don't care how technically fantastic it may end up being. I should clarify "bad". It offends me. So yes, it's subjective. It's kind of like how about if there was this nice-looking game coming out and it starred a 3d clone of Freddie Prinze Jr., or Elmo.

KH3 and FF15 are multiplatform but 1) by the time they come out, dev/consumer focus will already have shifted heavily in the direction of the PS4, and 2) if they're going to be better on either system, it won't be the XB1, particularly as they are being developed by Japanese studios, which won't get caught up in

Thanks to Microsoft snapping up DR3, I'll be owning an XB1 long before I pick up a PS4. I actually had the PS4 reserved since E3, but was forced to admit that there won't be a single thing I want to buy for it until.. heck, I still don't know when for sure. KH3, FF15, EDF all come out who knows when. Maybe not even

I place the Wii alongside PS2, Xbox1 and GC. Think of it this way: What "gen" is the 3DS? Right.

Not really sure how I could elaborate. "Angle of the grips" covers all that needs covering. The grips on the DS4 have a more acute angle than what the DS3/360 pads have (those two set the wrists at about the same angle). This will force the wrists slightly more upwards. It's an arguably minor quibble, but if you

Remember the part in Kill Bill when it turned into a cartoon? That kind of misguided.

Chiefly because Harry spent the entire book being an impossibly whiny brat. Generally in all caps. (Literally.) Granted, the entire series could justifiably have been called Hermione and her Sidekick, Harry, but book 5 was Rowlings' chance, after such a long delay, to finally begin developing the titular character,

In hindsight, I think it's good that this disparity is being underscored now (this is the second time Kotaku posted pretty much this exact article). Keep at it. Devs, never shut up about exactly how weak the XB1 is. If you are loud and clear, then you will have no qualms about providing the best possible experience

I personally am very wary of people saying the DS4 feels better. Keep in mind that half of the gaming public claims to feel that the DS3 is a more comfortable controller than the 360 pad - a prospect which is, in terms of ergonomics, quite impossible. Where are the people who should be complaining about losing that

Wasn't this already posted earlier? I'll refresh my points.

I have to personally admit that I felt the movie's handling of the Tale of the Three Brothers was horribly misguided. Then again, this is David Yates we're talking about. When I read that part of the book, I thought it was really quite clever, and cemented Rowlings' status in my mind as something more than just

Everything I need to survive the apocalypse, I get at level 4, when Cannibal becomes available.

Heh, whatever. Courting the Streisand effect a bit.

Meh. Frankly I don't even think about the 3DS in terms of something that might garner my interest because it is such a humble little machine. 60fps is asking a lot from it, evidently. The complete lack of anti-aliasing is what specifically killed the 3d function. Truly, I was eyeballing the Wii-U. And unless

What it's come down to, eh? It's the laugh of having a great history of quality titles, a dismal present-day dearth of quality titles, and diehard nostalgia buffs tipping you off on what rock to bleed next.

Okay, I've checked it out and I'm interested. The suggestion that the simulated platform is a sort of "super NES" seems about right. It actually puts me in mind of the kind of quality / pallettes you'd get from Amiga ports of C64 games.

Hmm. It seems to me that somebody was already trying to do this.. like at least a year ago.. but they were using an art style that they sort of invented, and it was just a mess. I can't recall the details, but they did also claim to have acquired the license to do it. Maybe somebody has a link.

Man. The true key to cleaning control pads must be to maintain clean hands. My controllers never look like that, and I never clean them. But I sure know people who have this problem. Generally speaking, their hands are greasy.
