Fine, assume the best. But one thing is for sure: Serving up all the item discoveries a-la-carte at the beginning of the game? That is misguided, and definitely kills the enjoyment. You're not discovering things; in fact, you're getting mild spoilers about what the game is going to present. And while placing items

Not very hyped. Depends on the focus of the game. Mostly single-player, like Mass Effect? Or mostly multi-player, like CoD? Again, with Kotick having scared away the lead guy on this game, color me dubious.

I appreciate that they see they need to do something to reverse the trend of their fortunes, but...

Probable gaffe: "And for the staying power of moé, while perhaps not as prevalent as in recent years..." Recommend removing highlighted "as". Also recommend replacing "And" with "as". ;p

I'm convinced that this chain's persistent proliferation in Japan owes much to its "fat old American" mascot, which is like a charming in-joke over there.

So Mighty No. 9 is officially getting a PS4 version, so I'll officially be forking over cash.

Funny. I thought the Wii-U already could pipe Wii games to the screen. I never questioned it. I mean, the screen is the same resolution as the Wii. Good old standard def.

Though I dislike many things about Valve's controller, at least they have made a particular point about tackling the latency issue. I mentioned it earlier but it bears repeating: The #1 thing Sony could have done to keep their touchpad from being gimmicky is guarantee core gamer responsiveness. They could have done

You beat me to it.

Okay. ;p Then allow me to elaborate the primary - and often subtle - differences between the two games which cause them to be too different to compare:

I should perhaps underscore the reason why this particular gimmick is drawing my ire. Latency. (As usual.) From the video, it is clear that this touch pad has the same kind of latency you'd find on just about any phone or tablet. Atrocious. What is such a thing doing on the control pad of the core gamers'

Don't know anymore. If it's primarily a multiplayer game, then heck no. And like, the lead guy left the company, or whatever, and the rumors are flying that it's basically a case of Kotick striking again. So at the very least, this one won't be a blind purchase. Gonna wait and see.

Been too busy to look into the new levels, but I have to say I am not enthused. I have two big problems with the new content:

The two games are philosophically too different. In CE, the whole point is a high-speed iteration of the classic, but they realized they were onto something with the time limit. In CE DX, the entire point is the time limit and what kind of score you can get with it, so every frustration is eliminated in favor of

For some reason, I thought this game was coming out this year. So does this mean there's literally no game this holiday season I'm looking forward to? (I don't really even think I could qualify DR3, despite the fact that I'm definitely buying it.)

Now playing

The Mighty No 9 kickstarter was rather expertly handled. The all-important female counterpart vote was introduced in the final few days, and I watched funding increase dramatically. They may yet reach the PS4 version. If it looks like they're going to, I'll foot them some cash myself. (But I'm not going to gamble

See, the thing about new gimmicks is that they should be 100% optional. Because they rarely work well, especially immediately, and even if they do, they are definitely not the familiar way of doing things. Better? Worse? It doesn't matter: Give the player both methods so there is no room for complaint. Big kudos

Here's the reason: Your childhood entertainment consisted of games that could be finished in a matter of hours - if not an hour. You're playing the wrong games. Join the casual crowd playing $1 games on their phones.

The human muscle one was inevitable, wasn't it. I think I kept scrolling down just to make sure it was there.
