You are correct that the PC version will not unlock on Steam for two weeks. However the Collectors Edition PC sets are still being released today to preorders. Albeit with a game key that’s useless for two weeks.

I contacted customer support cause it was both marked ‘Not Shipped Yet’ and ‘Arriving Today’ and they said there was an ‘issue’ which they didn’t clarify but bumped it to the fastest shipping option and now... Thursday they think? This is the PC version, I can’t play the game, but I want my box of toys. Also…

I can’t wait to unbox my CE edition full of bling and nostalgia, then take that key, punch it into Steam... And sit and wait for two weeks while I make my Sonic statue cry ‘SeeeGaaah’ for every second that passes.

THe real disappointment is that the ‘Retro Engine’ ports of 1, 2 and 3 are on mobile, but on PC/Console it’s emulations. :/

Having actually read a number of books on gaming history, I have to wonder if I should play Night Trap just gain a first hand experience on what all the outrage was about. I’ve really come no closer than a few reviews online like with AVGN covered it.

In 90 minutes we found users threatening to rape women, users mocking disabilities, users throwing around homophobic and transphobic slurs, users spamming sexually explicit comments at streamers, users threatening to doxx streamers mid-stream, and users harassing the followers of streamers to quit their channel.

That was really it. Psychologically speaking, you know what’s coming when the sky is darkened by B29's and the fires will burn for days. (Not that that isn’t horrifying in itself).
