I would add, KNOW what those needs are. What do you want in a relationship? What does a good one look like? What are you willing to give/not give? Why are you with this person as opposed to someone else? Why now? Why not later?

Yeah. Now that I watch those episodes it's just drama piled on twist piled on another twist and more heavy drama.

Plus it's quiet racism. It's automatically assumed the white person is qualified while The Other is not. There's no scenario where two people could be qualified or The Other might be just more qualified period.
