At this point, I’m convinced that they know what they’re doing.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is already playable on the Switch as part of the Castlevania Advance Collection (where only half of the games are from the GBA, oddly enough), so there’s no real incentive for Konami to license it out for NSO. Even if they did want to let people play it independently from the collection,

I know it’s not one of the games that went viral, but Zortch Maxinum Against The Alien Brainsuckers! (sic) is one of the best in the movement. The gameplay is great, the length is just right, it really nails the look and feel of 90s FPSes, and it’s a one-person project made on a custom game engine, which is just cool.

Some do, but a lot of them either play like Painkiller and lock you in a room to shoot waves of baddies for a while, or play like Doom Eternal and just give you a lot of tools and ask you to play a cracked-out version of a classic shooter, and they’ll often do both. If done well, I’m not particularly bothered by this,

They’re part of an indie movement, so if you’re not in-touch with indie games and especially indie shooters, then this would be a whole new world for you. It’s also significant that a lot of them haven’t received console releases, so if you don’t play on PC, you’ll miss out on them completely.

It happened because there was a phase were the kids just equated “boomer” to “anyone older than me”, and the fact that the two words flow together well made it roll off the tongue nicely, making it kind of fun to say, which is why the name stuck. So to translate, it means “shooter in the style of ones played by people

Given how swiftly they changed the title and how little pushback there was (even making an apology acknowledging the issue), I’m open to believing this was an honest mistake. Believe it or not, these things happen. Meeting this kind of response with such skepticism feels toxic. I mean, sure, don’t believe everything

I’ll believe it when I see it.

Holy shit, they just cleared out like half of my collection.

I mostly agree. I have a co-worker who manages to make it look good. Beyond that, yeah. Mullets aren’t a good look.

You sure it’s not “never make a bet unless you’re prepared to lose”?

I get it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. I play Metroid, so I’m used to shooting at random things just to see what happens. That doesn’t mean everyone else is, or that they want to. It would be nice to have an option to turn off this sort of hint system, though.

490,954 over here. Sure would be nice to have that amount in dollars.

Worthless? No, certainly not. But worth the asking price? Well, also certainly not. The value is only there if someone else is willing to pay it, and this goon is apparently the only person who thinks it’s that valuable.

I like collecting things. I think it’s fair to just call it part of the hobby rather than just hand-waving it off as FOMO. That said, I sure ain’t paying those scalper rates. I’m confident that most won’t, it’s the same thing that happened with GPU pricing where there are limited quantities of a highly-desired product

I had something similar happen to me. I collect music, and I had managed to find a very limited print box set that was still sealed from a band I like that someone was selling from Germany. I may have over-spent, but it was unlikely I’d be able to find something in that condition anytime soon. When it finally arrives,

I was wondering to myself “oh, how bad can it be that it sparked this much of an uproar?” Well, after watching, I definitely see that it’s a very dull trailer (especially when compared to their usually incredible trailer work), but I still don’t get it. People in the League community will get mad about anything.

Ouch. I get this one.

Hey, at least Texas is accurate. All my homies love HEB. It’s the one place where the store brand is as good or better than the name brand. Prices are good, too.

On the one hand, we didn’t even have a mini-map back in the glory days of the arena shooters, and we did just fine. On the other hand, what’s the point of the mini-map if you aren’t receiving any information from it?
