The issue I have is that you're saying it's not a good game because it's not a good RPG. Uncharted is not a good RPG either, but I think most would argue that it's not a good game. As you yourself mention in the article, the Final Fantasy franchise is filled with games of many different genres.

The machine isn't the issue, it's the games. I would buy a Vita in an instant if there were games I wanted for it. But thus far there's Gravity Rush and a few ports of games I already own. Otherwise, there's almost nothing for it that interests me. Sony should have developed some major first-party titles to launch

I remember seeing a review of FFXIII that complained about all the big numbers flashing on the screen, saying it was pointless and archaic and they should just resort to using visual cues to signify damage and health. And I thought, "noooooo!"

As a huge Suikoden fan, I much appreciate the focus on this series in this article and your column in general. The games are phenomenal, and the only reason they're not bigger is because of the lower production values and the simple fact that people don't really know about them. I don't know if a fan campaign will

Sooooooo excited about this because Okami is one of my favorite games, but I'm somewhat disappointed it's digital-only. I wish they'd do a limited print run of collector's editions or something.

I know the blue menus with white borders and plain white text are classic for the series, but they are REALLY showing their age here. The visuals look great, but the menus make the game look really amateurish to me. With how stylish entries like XII and XIII are, I'm disappointed to see them making the menus so dull

Nooooo, we don't need any more action RPGs! There is NOTHING old-fashioned about turn-based and command-based battle systems. It is simply a gameplay style. I LOVED FFXIII's battle system, and I would rather they keep running with that formula, tweaking it to give players more control and strategic options.

I'm skeptical. The graphics we saw in the first FFXIII trailers/screenshots ended up being far more impressive than the game in action. The game looked phenomenal, but not as crazy as the tech demo stuff. And of course, awesome graphics need to be backed up by just as awesome gameplay and story.

I feel the same way. I like the look of the environments, but the character designs were very off-putting. Let's hope the games they end up making with the engine have a tighter and more cohesive art style.

Let's hope this game has better writing than Heavy Rain. I loved HR, but the fact that it was basically all story and yet still had pretty lame cliches and significant plot holes was disappointing, to say the least.

Take some courses in biology and you'll start to learn about the many purposes and "designs" (I put that in quote because I don't want to start the evolution vs. intelligent design debate) that are very much present in nature. Diving in a coral reef is cool. Diving in a coral reef when you've learned about some of

I'd be more interested in the game if it didn't look like every other WRPG that's not Mass Effect.

I'd prefer they were announcing localization of Suikoden PSP.

Pre-ordered for the artbook (I know, bought into their marketing scheme, but it's Atlus!). I'll try to enjoy the game as best I can...

This is how I feel too. Unless the next generation makes it easier and cheaper to have great graphics, I can only see things going in a bad direction. I'd much rather see developers hone their skills with the current gen and work on crafting better gameplay and story experiences than have to worry about yet another

Oh look, more DLC-based content. I miss the days when you could just play the game anytime, anywhere and not have to worry about keeping track of all these limited-time events and hooking your game up to the computer. I really enjoyed B/W, but I felt like I was missing so much stuff by not doing the Global Link and

SPOILER WARNING

You haven't played very many JRPGs/video games, have you?

All I want to know is, when is the game of the year edition coming out? Because I refuse to spend the same amount I spent on the game (actually, more than that) when I can just buy it all on the disc for $20 in a few months.

Really love how they recycle the same 2 theme songs in every game in the series. Seriously Square-Enix, you better get something new for the next game (especially if it's on consoles). They're great songs, but come on...
