The great thing about kickstarter is you can choose to not donate money and not buy the game if it does succeed!

How many kickstarters don't give supporters a copy of the game? Considering you can basically choose how much to donate, you often get extra perks, and you almost always get a copy of the game as well, I don't see how this can be seen as a bad thing...

That's kinda what I'm feeling. I'll have to see how much they're asking for, but it might be worth giving a huge amount just to go to E3/Japan!

There was a Class of Heroes Final recently which was the last game, but I'm not sure what number it was (maybe 4?).

I will pledge as much money as I possibly can for a Suikoden kickstarter. Hundreds! THOUSANDS!!!

You almost always get a copy of the game when you donate to kickstarter, plus it's potentially better for fans/consumers to fund a game instead of a publisher who will likely try to influence the game's content. Plus this way the developers don't have to worry about "paying back" the publisher. With kickstarter,

I think it would be interesting to see what JRPG studios produce if they didn't have pressure from publishers to expand the market/appeal to more demographics and thus mess up the game formula. Plus, as an avid JRPG fan, I'm willing to pledge my support to the cause in any way I can. Plus this could lead to more

I heard Class of Heroes was pretty mediocre, but I don't care. As a huge JRPG fan, I'm willing to pledge my support to this cause, plus I love collectibles in general. And I'm sure I'll at least enjoy the game somewhat. Plus if this goes over well, we'll get the chance to see more JRPGs brought over like this, and

Say what you will about people what they're upset about/what methods they're using to protest, I think it's pretty impressive that we've gotten movements like these lately. Stuff like Operation Rainfall and now this ending protest is actually meaningful and seems to be having an effect. After all, North America has

Egypt or a Mayan like civilization would've been awesome. And while there have been many ninja/samurai games, I don't know of any that have as detailed of cities/environments as the AC games, nor do I know of any that have such free-roaming. The Revolutionary War setting should be interesting, but I hope they can

From what I've heard, Tales of Xillia is not anything to get excited about unless they release a Director's Cut. I'm loving Graces F so far, and Xillia looks interesting, but I'd hope they'd expand on it and give it some more content before localizing.

Well I was largely referring to the visual design of worlds. I don't like that "fantasy" WRPGs end up simply going for realistic medieval settings with just about everything from elements of nature to architecture being rooted in the real world.

Then that color must make all the difference because I've found the settings in JRPGs to be much more creative, varied, and interesting than the settings I've seen in the last few WRPGs I've played (Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Dragon Age).

I see the game industry going in the direction of the film industry. If you want to be really successful financially, making the big blockbuster games, you're going to have to make the shitty-but-popular action-movie equivalents. Stuff that isn't very deep/meaningful on an intellectual level, that isn't very

Sounds interesting and some nice gameplay potential. I just hope the story/setting are a little more inspired and creative than what I've seen in most WRPGs lately.

The only games I see with actually nice, detailed, and full-color printed manuals these days seem to be Square-Enix games and a number of RPGs from smaller publishers. I don't mind the shift towards digital manuals, but please keep them attractively designed and with cool concept/character art!

I kind of like the idea of copyright free characters that are encouraged to be used by people for different purposes. If I was a talented artist with free time, I'd totally make some for causes or whatnot.

She's going to give me nightmares...

Have you played the Sazh side story? From what I heard, it's terrible.

Woohoo. More costumes. I haven't bought a single piece of DLC for XIII-2 yet, and I haven't regretted it. I hope other people are making the same choice. DLC could have worked in Final Fantasy, but the path Square-Enix elected to go with it is WRONG, and shouldn't be supported by anyone. Give me real content, not
