Would've preferred that over ANOTHER zombie game. Even if The Last of Us "reinvents" the zombie "genre," I still would have preferred something a bit more original/unique.

Oh I didn't mean to actually write it, but to do consulting/fact-checking. I'm sure many fans would happily do it for free too, considering they'd get to read the work for free/early.
I don't understand when the creators don't hire/invite fans to get involved. It seems like dedicated fans are always more knowledgeable on canon than the creators just because they keep track of everything so much.
200 hours for 100% completion is nothing. I've put that much time into plenty of RPGs, if not more. My Pokemon files easily hit 500 hours. And if the main "story" is only 30-40 hours, that's fine. The "main quest" can definitely be too long, but there's nothing wrong with having hundreds of hours of extra content.
Haven't read the article yet, but this guy seems rather uninformed. I thought Square-Enix flat-out confirmed that none of the unused art/game elements from XIII were being utilized for XIII-2 (which makes sense considering all the areas I've seen thus far are only possible after Cocoon fell/areas from XIII with a…
And I completely understand one being disappointed to play a new FF which did not have exploration. But does that mean we should be reviewing the game poorly? Does a developer changing up the formula of its franchise warrant a game getting bad reviews and criticism? It's an interesting (and in my opinion,…
If that's true, I'm not sure what was going through reviewers' minds, because the backlash on public internet forums started before the game was even released.
AFAIK, there are no mini-games or any other gameplay in Uncharted other than platforming and shooting. Unless they threw some stuff in to the third one. And yet people had no problem playing that game, even multiple times. In my opinion, a game shouldn't need distractions to take away from it's core gameplay in…
All of those could be done with FFXII or Xenoblade's style of game, probably cool methods of transport at this point. Although I must admit, Ni No Kuni's world map looks like a really great rendition of a feature I consider archaic.
What cool things? Really dull and redundant, low-res environments? An excuse for more annoying random battles? Finding secret areas (which can be done without a world map)?
Some observations:
Skyrim may have more variety in gameplay, but I find FFXIII's combat to be much more involved and enjoyable than anything I've ever done in an ES game. Last time I checked, games can be good without being all about exploration and cramming as much shit into the game as possible regardless of the quality.
Saying day one DLC is a reward to anyone is incredibly twisted. You know what WOULD be rewarding? Putting the content on the disc in the first place and not making me download something extra (and possibly pay for later on if I were to change my PSN account or something like that). No matter how harmless it is,…
Seriously!? WHY DID PEOPLE WANT THIS!?!?!?!? I could have handled it just for some extra gameplay item, but the fact that I will need to play such a pointless mini-game just to unlock the full story is even worse.
There's a lot of stuff I'm perfectly happy with only having access too, especially if there's a significant price drop and/or it's something I won't necessarily use over and over. But I still want the option to own stuff that I want to own, which is why I fear the day when we have digital distribution exclusively.
I love cloud storage, but I don't like being forced to use it. And while digital distribution is convenient, I still have a problem with it. There's just something about having the media in a physical form, with nice packaging and all. I love having the option to buy a game, movie, or song digitally (or books now…
Also makes an excellent stripping game. Great way to get the whole party naked!
I must be the only person who actually liked that FFXIII didn't have a bunch of crappy mini-games you had to play to get 100% completion and that all the sidequests could safely be put off until after you'd finished the story. Chocobo "racing" and dodging lightning bolts really marred my experience with FFX (which I…
So if it has bluray does that mean Sony will be getting some money, or has it gone beyond that now?
I have played it and I loved it! Very enjoyable for a non-shooter like myself :D
