I had to make a gif, I love it so much.

Our world has gotten so crazy that this is just a little ticker on the bottom of the screen News now. Previously this would be the top story and we’d talking about how, “why the efffing eff of an eff is it 72 degrees at night in December and wildfires this large happening during raiby seasons?”
I’ve seen some pretty staggering destruction in the last 24 hours. Three of the families who lost their homes and everything they owned were personal friends. The lives of tens of thousands of people are affected by this. 1100 firefighters are risking their lives battling the fires around Ventura alone. Framing this…
It’s actually not 80º here. It’s been in the 60s and 70s for a couple of weeks (and only late last week it crept up to the higher ends of the 70s but it’s been fairly chilly relatively speaking). The wind is just strong and that’s enough to spark dried out vegetation.
Last night was almost identical conditions as the night the Tubbs fire roared through Santa Rosa. I couldn’t sleep, I kept a bag packed by the door. We didn’t lose our home but we were evacuated for several days. My heart goes out to everyone going through this.
I’m so sorry for your friend’s loss. Ventura is such a special, beautiful place.
It’s not just Ventura County that’s lost power, either. They’re having outages up in Santa Barbara as well.
Thank you for your courage and moral backbone. We all need to rise to this occasion and you are a sterling example to the rest of your fellow citizens.
I’m a writer not a fighter. I have no idea why they saw me as such a threat, except the truth hurts I guess. Especially when you’re stripping away healthcare from very sick people to give tax breaks to billionaires.
I was threatened before the event even started. I was just sitting there in my seat, after eating many delicious churros (hats off to the organizers for that - they were good). That’s when security guy “Bob” — who refused to tell me his name despite me asking again and again — told me not to make a disturbance and…
AIDS was the first time since WWII and the leap forward with antibiotics/vaccines that many modern American/Western health care professionals saw a plague.
Thank you!
I lost a friend to AIDS in the ‘80s. He’d been HIV+ for a while but the knowledge and the meds just weren’t quite there yet. If only... if only he’d not been infected for even just 18 more months... he might have caught the meds wave. Instead, he washed up on the shore. God, I miss him.
Alternately, I have…
I totally understand. These people are a danger to everyone with their anti-established science ravings. It’s a big worry of mine that we’re vulnerable to a major epidemic wiping out or handicapping a sizeable proportion of our kids polio-style because there are so many unvaccinated children.
Thank you! I just, this shit makes me so angry, irrationally (but not really because it’s deadly) angry. It needs to be outlawed because people are not educated and they think a sugar pill is tantamount to a vaccine, and a vitamin iv will treat HIV, and they die. “Doctors” like this woman, who is just shitting on the…
Fuck this woman. Fuck fuck fuck this woman.
*wet fart sound*
Stay in school, kid.
Fun fact: shooting and killing a stranger on the street is not a sufficient condition for a crime to have occurred and accused criminals are assumed innocent until proved guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. If you accidentally shot someone without negligence, then you are not guilty of a crime. The jury’s verdict…
No offense, but your cat kinda sounds like a jerk. Nothing like my cairn terrier! :-P
The typo thing=children is unkind. You should not marry this man not because you may be young, based on your typos. You should not marry this man because after hooking up on-again, off-again, fooling around, whatever it was for three years, he can’t know after three months of monogamy if he’ll be satisfied and…
