The truck actually still has a conventional starter

It takes a lot more than 10 HP to acceleration a 5000 pound pickup truck in any kind of reasonable amount of time. Even mild stop/go traffic acceleration is going to require around 50-60 HP.

While I like the idea of the active mass dampers, I don’t like the fact that they’re bolting an aluminum bracket directly to the steel frame. They should have learned like Ford did with their fuel pump controllers. The salt spray in northern states is going to make that thing corrode off the truck in 5 years.

The MGU on the 5.7 Hemi looks like a horrible afterthought. I suspect the main reason the hood of the new Ram has that ungainly bulge in the middle was just to package the MGU better.

I want to know more about their completely variable cylinder shut-off. How do they maintain smooth running turning arbitrary cylinders on and off?

Running smoothly is not the same thing as being inherently balanced. I’ve been in many V6 powered vehicles that run objectively smoother than a Jeep 4.0 I6.

I expect it to be well in excess of 4,000 pounds then? Probably just about touching a base-model RCSB F-150 in curb weight I bet.

I can’t check the dimensions of a vehicle that doesn’t exist for sale in the U.S. market. But thanks for confirming my point that the T6 is absolutely gigantic compared to the old U.S. Ranger. I suspect the U.S. variant is going to be even wider and longer.

This thing looks absolutely freaking massive. It looks even larger than the Colorado/Tacoma! What is the point in even bringing the Ranger here, when it’s within an inch or two of the F-150 anyways?

Did you have any trouble with the automatic fighting the brakes in 1st/Low on the Rubicon? I know on DIY crawlers, it starts getting hard to hold it back around the 80:1 crawl ratio.

I’m personally glad the center axle disconnect is back. I can’t tell you how many XJs, ZJs and TJ’s I’ve seen with completely blown out

Don’t feel bad! We just spun 3 connecting rod bearings in a Lexus 1UZ powered Nissan Hardbody because we ran an oil line poorly and it got crushed.

God how I miss 90's Japanese sports car styling. It doesn’t matter which Japanese make it was from, they almost always had this restrained, yet extremely purposeful design language.

Many of these trucks (especially since it’s a day cab) are driven round the clock with driver swap outs.

Whats the weight of the truck? Where are the real pictures (not just renders)?

Master Milo is like the Davesfarm of Europe. Except not a pedophile.

I wish you guys would stop Capitalizing The First Letter Of Every Word. I can’t tell if the story is about Rob, her new boyfriend - or if her new boyfriend got robbed.

Exactly my point. Cool car with a lame boring motor.

Because it’s lazy and boring.

350 Chevy = Instant Crack Pipe. Seriously. If you’re gonna spend 48,000 to build a car, just spend the extra few hundred bucks to find a Chrysler 360 or something.

Any idea what the optional “Power Pack” is for the 2.0 and 3.6 engines?
