I’m sure this will be unpopular, but the first 15 minutes of the last Conan movie with Mamoa had Conan as a kid - running around causing trouble until his whole tribe is killed, and then he fights off a guard and we fast forward to Mamoa. That section of the movie was awesome, and I would watch the shit out of a

Almost all of California’s beach schools are really hard to get into. They’re expensive, and they have high number of applications from both the US and from Asia, and so they can be extremely selective on who they let in.

As someone who loosely follows anime and manga (I pull up a few shows each season, try a few episodes and generally forget about to get back to them) I’m always surprised by the undercurrent of rape or harassment in alot of these shows, especially the ones that lean into fan service. It makes sense to me that a number

Do retro special effects cost more money?

I thought Ling Ma’s severence did an extremely good job of using “infected” as a metaphor for other problems, and how we use our modern society to sweep things under the run and try not to deal with them.... which is pretty similar to our situation now.

Get me a mouse-based tank and we’ll run right through’em

The first time I play a game I usually set up for default. However if I really like a game I’ll go harder. For example - Just played XCOM2 at default, and then after finishing I went through expansion material in ‘veteran’ with ‘ironman’ mode (which accidentally glitched and sent me back a month gametime... but still

Normally I iron once a week, and that’s how I got through a bunch of anime series, Kingdom and a bunch of foreign movies. I ugggh, am not doing a lot ironing these days. So other than ‘parasite’ I haven’t watched anything foreign in a while.

The sequel to dead snow made me laugh quite a bit harder, even though it’s not as good.  I really enjoyed it, even though it had a DtV feel

1) Brain-dead aka Dead alive Peter Jackson (LOTR) Horror-comedy film is bloody, digusting and at times the funniest thing I have ever seen. Google zombie kung fu priest to get an idea. (also - his Michael J Fox film the Frightners is also a good horror comedy that is at times hillarious and yet also quite scary.

I”m pretty sure I saw these with my kids 2 or 3 years ago.

Back in the days of X-wing, Wing Commander and Descent Freespace, I used to love having a good flight stick with missile lock buttons, throttle control for quick maneuvers and quick key commands for wingmen. Being able to quickly, loop, barrel roll and lock on a target was the best, and no other controller can match

I just bought this at gamestop for like $2 on PS3, and while I’ve enjoyed it (it’s fine) it hasn’t been nearly as fun as other PS3 shooters I’ve played - my favorite so far was Kill Zone 2 - where even though the game was super generic, every weapon was fun to fire and felt vicious, intuitive and seemed to have real

To get the full *switch* that his character needed in Rise, we probably needed to explore ... something. I just didn’t really buy the romantic chemistry, and the plot was moving so fast there wasn’t really any time for Character develpment either.  I just saw it recently and was shocked at how poorly written the whole

This calls for some divine intervention!

Please be in the cockpit... please  be in the cockpit... no 3rd person please!

Really? I thought the first captain america was the worst film of that early generation.... just very hokey.  I was pleasantly suprised by Thor and that captain america 2 was such a massive improvement.
