I felt that everything about the first episode was sort of meh. There were no big swings (think Jamie pushing Bran out of a window in the first episode of GoT), and there wasn’t really a hook, or rather, the hook is that the story is set in the GoT world, which is not much to bank on given how bad the previous show

I still haven’t seen Love and Thunder, and I’m hoping like hell I like it (I love Taika Waititi, and Thor is my favorite Avenger so it will be really disappointing if it sucks). A really good friend of mine who shares most of my taste in movies loved Eternals. Like really, really loved the movie. When I grilled him

*Puts on nerd glasses*.
This looks like fun (BAMF Galadriel, yay!), but I’m choosing to view it as high budget fan fiction. I haven’t really been following the news about the project, but early on I kinda sorta decided that the only cool, really innovative way a story about the making of the Rings of power could be

For me Eternals was, by far, the meh-est Marvel movie. It wasn’t bad, per se, it wasn’t good either, it was just a bunch of bonkers shit that kinda took place in a universe I like, but I completely forgot about it the minute it was over. Hell, I forgot it was even a Marvel movie until I read this article. Seems like

What if this is a move to lay down the groundwork for just not releasing the Flash movie? With all the trouble that that production’s been having, and with all the apparent in-universe tie-ins, WB might be killing two birds with one stone, getting a tax write off, and quetly cutting away at the messy in-universe stuff

Yep, came here to say this. It’s been in development for too long, the Fantastic beasts franshise went belly up even with recasting Johnny Depp (and Miller has a prominent role in that as well), I don’t think WB wants or needs the kind of shit publicity and scrutiny this kind of behavior brings. Plus, they can always

I loved it. I loved the episode so much, it had that Star Wars umpf. And it was the most Star Warsy thing ever! I understand the whole awful thing where this was supposed to be a show about Boba Fett and blah blah.

Well, it was always supposed to be uncomfortable. Now it’s just so much worse. Retconning aside, I think you hit the nail on the head with the Padme observation. The way she deals with Anakin’s half-assed remorse, and the way in which she just coddles him all through the Clone Wars (especially ignoring his controling

Hah yea, thanks! I figured as much as soon as I posted the comment :) But I was like hey, they’re on Camino, probably all the clones brought back the Jedi they killed so it could be anyone.

I don’t remember recently laughing at anything pop-culture related as hard as I laughed at this. I love this show so much.

I loved it! I loved CW and Rebels but wasn’t expecting much from BB, and hoo boy was I wrong! Even with the lack of Jedi this thing has a very Star Wars-y feel to it, much more so than the Mandalorian for example (I love that show as well). And the animation is wonderful (I definitely prefer SW animation to live

Right? I didn’t know they intended something else originally, but it makes so much sense. There were a bunch of plot holes and weird cuts, I caught myself rewinding some episodes because I thought I had missed something.

Man, this show was visually awesome, but the storyline sucked so much.

Personally, I see jack shit in any of the protagonists (male or female). But Kirigan is the quintessential Byronian hero, the tortured douche bag you can maybe rescue. The show did a damn fine job of setting him up as such and then tearing that shit down and pissing all over it, which I find refreshing and awesome,

Oh my sweet summer child...

I always disliked Tartakovsy’s Clone Wars, and hadn’t seen them until recently. However, I always found Greivous terrifying and mysterious while watching the 3d Clone Wars (which I had seen previously). So like, no. For me at least, Greivous was a nightmare all the way.

I’m sorry, I didn’t read the review (I will as soon as Iwrite this, I promise), I’m here to comment on the show itself.

You Sir remain a delight even in these trying times.

This seems like a movie made specifically for white people far enough up the corporate ladder that they’ll clone their dead Pomeranians, but will happily tear down animal shelters in order to build artisan cupcake shops or something equally idiotic. Skinning puppies but make it haute couture. Yeesh.

I’m kinda conflicted about this. I mean, season 1 was damn near perfect, and it told a great, consistent story. Definitely the best show of 2020 IMO. I’d hate to see it watered down with a meh second season. On the other hand, that was some of the best television I’d ever seen, so if they were to continue in the same
