I think the only places where it seemed to work (or at least not insta-fail) have been in blue location with similarly blue clientele. When it is in tourist areas or places with more conservative clientele it has had more pushback.

Oh yeah it’s supposed to but if restaurants actually followed the rules there would hardly be any of them in business.
I was thinking it was kind of weird to just pick that one dish at the one restaurant, I wouldn’t be surprised if WSJ(not NYT, or at least that’s what this article says) was just cherrypicking info for the story for the clicks. It’s a News Corp. publication so anything written in it should be taken with the absolute…
There is literally one situation where it is cheaper to eat food not prepared at home. It’s when time is such a scare commodity you literally do not have time (such as those working multiple jobs) to prepare food and may not even have a kitchen to work with. It is the most extreme situation where you will see it at…
It is still going to be cheaper because you aren’t marking up the cost of any of that to make a profit off your family. You can also batch a lot of the work - like making a half gallon of marinara then freezing most of it - so the work cost gets spread out over several meals.
I think a lot of people are like poster Dale Peekle where they expect wait staff to always be smiling and happy and they think that tipping gets them better service or food somehow. Me, I know a trash job when I see one and I am happy to tip 25% just so my server doesn’t go home feeling like shit at the end of the…
Us restaurant owners would love that too, it would help fix the huge disparities between what servers make versus the cook staff.
Not tipping for bad service may be your choice, but not tipping because the food is bad hurts the wrong people (especially if you don’t say anything and give the server a chance to fix it).
Maybe!
Could be that too. Or maybe they’re paying the wait staff better now so they had to up the prices? I’d pay more for food if the wait staff got paid better and tipping wasn’t necessary.
One minute it’s better to eat at home and another it’s cheaper to dine out
Well also the prices of alcoholic beverages have gone up faster than the prices of food, at least at the places where I eat.
Israel has not proven who who hit the hospital. They say they didn’t do it, and their imperial benefactors in the US government back them up. But they’ve only proffered up two pieces of evidence. One was a video of a rocket that further analysis by the NY Times (a mouthpiece for the US State Department) showed could…

What is the number of dead Palestinians you consider appropriate? There seems to be a multiple of the horrific actions by Hamas on Oct 7th that might quell your bloodthirst. 10,000 so far... Is 100,000 enough? What about the number of UN AID workers? Right now that’s 100!
Ah yes, “they started it.” The most elegant of arguments.
Self-rule? Gaza is not a sovereign nation. If they were, Israel wouldn’t control access to food, fuel, etc. Israel still claims sovereignty over Gaza. Anyways, I guess all those human rights organizations that call Gaza an open air prison and blame Israel for that or just antisemites.
Why should Palestinians have to leave their homes at all? The overwhelming majority of the 7+ million Palestinians living in areas controlled by Israel have done nothing wrong. It shouldn’t be up to the Arab states to take them (although ALL states, U.S. included, should be welcoming to any Palestinian refugees who…
Man, Azealia Banks is such a tragedy. She has massive amounts of talent and could have been a superstar if she wasn’t such a dumpster fire of a human being.
