I had to walk away from the keyboard last week when Jez had an article using the word "labias" for a very similar reason. I do my best to pick my battles so I don't turn into some humorless pedant. :D

I think a lot of peoples' brains edit to "ratchet", which is understandable given that Kesey wanted her name to be reminiscent of the word. I'm pretty sure I got it wrong at first, honestly.
