You can pick it up on Abandonia as freeware and run it on DOSbox with a little bit of know how. You can also download D-Fend Reloaded, which is basically a user friendly frontend for DOSbox with a GUI.

Cthulu Saves The World is really fun. I bought Costume Quest, but it won't run on my pc for some random reason and their customer support is just terrible for the pc version, so I gave up on that one.

I will say what I told my friend who had basically the same reaction to Captain America as you did; I think all that cheese was intentional.
