It is incredibly rich he’s claiming to really understand the fanbase after watching only Curry-era teams. From the Mezzanine Club no less.

An unhealthy percentage of fans love to tell other fans their titles don’t mean anything. It’s kind of bizarre. Not sure why anyone pays attention to those people.

This feels like a strawman you’re dominating here, dude. None of the fans I know feel anything other than the combination of rough timing on injuries, Kawhi going bananas, and Toronto just straight up playing better are the reason this sits at 3-1.

I preferred Rex Grossman’s ring myself but I’d love to congratulate you on your big win.

Ah, that explains things. I’m in the Bay, so the only real “asterisk talk” I hear is the infamous Lakers/Kings Game 6. Which, in fairness, a lot of fans felt damn suspect about.

I mean, there are certainly oodles of people who think Durant’s titles count for less. But the whole “asterisk title” thing is just a retreat for people who wish the season ended differently (i.e. they wish their team won instead and therefore whoever won it wasn’t really worthy). It’s sports fanfic. It’s dumb.

That’s dumb as hell. Hakeem was dope and somebody had to win those titles. Also: I’ve never heard anyone make that claim so it could be a thing where it resonates with Houston fans but it’s like, five guys on Twitter who just desperately want to be noticed. Either way: nope. They won. 29 other teams could’ve and did

A man with a giant ass killing a man who is a giant ass. I feel the synergy.

Honestly, both your & Dante’s replies were good. I’ve met some good VCs and some bad ones but the bad ones have been so unendingly, unrepentantly bad they can make you forget the others exist.

Also important to note: sometimes one of the teams has more good players and they win.

“If he doesn’t, and the Raptors win, do they get the asterisk for beating the Warriors without Durant, or do the Warriors get asterisks for titles they won with him?”

It’s surprisingly bad! And I agree 100%–this Raptors team is full of dudes who are either really fun or guys that are fine and I don’t really care about but have nothing against (Danny Green, stand up). Pointing out that the Warriors were a one-game underdog on a night where they were without KD, Klay, and Looney made

A venture capitalist pushing around an actually talented person at their place of business? Wonders never cease.

Ok, sport. You’re not gonna be fun to talk with. Be best.

Finally, someone brings up LeBron. Thank you for all that you do.

The only people who lose are the people who tossed asterisks on the times the Warriors stomped out LeBron.

The Warriors are currently suiting up two great players (Steph & Draymond) and one good one (Iggy). They were definitely the underdog last night!

To be fair, injuries are ALWAYS a factor. The year Cleveland won, Bogut and Iggy were injured during the Finals. And no, I’m not equating those dudes with Love & Kyrie, but that’s just what happens. Are people gonna put an asterisk next to the Raptors if they pull it off this year? I mean, Steph just put a valiant 47,

“bruuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“And keep Steph Curry in the hold of an armored car.”
