I mean, what’s the argument that Chris Paul is better than Steph Curry? Genuinely? I can’t find it, outside of some embrace of positional purity (i.e. “durrr Curry isn’t really a point guard!”). I don’t think you can argue it in good faith anymore. It’s over.

I mean, I loathe watching CP3 play now as he’s increasingly becoming a collection of his worst and most annoying traits, but most people sleep on his Hornets years. He was damn good then. Those LA teams left me cold but you can’t deny his talent. Hell, Deron Williams vs. CP was a Real Thing. He’s been around for a

The Rockets:

And also, wouldn’t that be Nash? More success, MVPs, better teams, better legacy, helmed a transformative team.

I read it as “since 2000,” so that’s my bad.

I mean, it’s what the Rockets have come to.

The best point guard of the 2000s put up 33 in a half tonight, man. There’s no universe where Chris Paul is a better player than Steph Curry. That ship has sailed.

CP3 a year older and slower next year, still getting paid $24m, and I just don’t see the Rockets being a factor going forward.”

This is more a question for the Ringer slack, jakajaka

Now playing

See, that last bit is wrong. Those Clipper teams were stacked. Blake was at his athletic peak, DeAndre was mobile and springy, JJ Reddick did JJ Reddick things. They blew a 3-1 lead to the Rockets and generally flamed out in perplexing ways. This stuff is the hallmark of CP3's playoff resume!

What’s the blog you look back on most and wonder “what in God’s name was I thinking?”

I mean, how could we have predicted Chris Paul failing in the playoffs? Besides looking at his entire career?

This take is so bad that I’ve decided I do not like Janet. Sorry Janet.

“Who cares?”

We’ll add it to the list.

Harrell was great in that series (pretty much all year, honestly). Lou was less of a revelation for me, mainly because that dude has been doing this for quite a while now, but he played superbly.

Was it? We need to stop giving a team that’s never won anything and whose entire strategy has not translated to playoff success the benefit of the doubt.

You and me Both, friend.

Draymond also knows how to guard the driver AND Capela simultaneously. It’s remarkable. And Capela can’t shoot, so if you do that, he ain’t doing anything on that end outside of the occasion offensive rebound.

On the other hand, Chris Paul’s suffering from terminal lemon booty, Harden looks gassed, and Capela has been capital “b” Bad in this series.
