But without the handling.

I’ve never understood these things. It’s like taking the best parts of a motorcycle and a convertible... and building something with what’s left over. Or... how to have some of the fun of a motorcycle and some of the usefulness of a convertible with the bonus of looking like a dork when driving it.

Lol, everything you two complain about is inherent with most vans of this era. If you want all the things vans don’t have, buy another Monte Carlo. For THIS kind of van, $3,900 is pretty dang reasonable.

“If you don’t like the way I’m treating my Ferrari, you can treat your Ferrari extra nice.”

To me, it really speaks to the battle Lucid is fighting on the direct to consumer side. If people aren’t buying them at auction anywhere near to MSRP how are you going to sell them new for that? They were only able to sell like 2,200 cars in Q2 so there should be third party sale demand, but it isn’t there.

$250k on toy cars and tractors? Wow, that takes determination.

Agreed. In almost every single case, you’d be better off investing in the stock market than a car. If you but a car you should plan on driving and enjoying it (and not worry if it’s some “limited” edition). If you want to make money, you should study Buffetology. Even an amazing car like a McLaren F1 isn’t worth it.

I’ve watched with amusement at these flippers lately, not just the 300C but all sorts. I will watch almost any auction on BaT and Cars&Bids for these new cars with 90-200 miles on them trying to flip. 300Cs. Broncos. TRX. Raptors. Within the last year, with few exceptions.... the final bid on most of them have failed

To make matters more interesting, the buyer financed this car”

The seller was just testing the market; and the market answered back: “just drive it and enjoy it.”

I’m surprised they chose my comment to be added to this post.

I wouldn’t want it if the price was $3,34o.00.

Seconded. I’m GenX and I lived in fear that an uncle would buy one of these and I’d have to hear him talking about it.

If I wanted one of these, this would probably be the one. I still think it’s priced a little too high.

One of the most worthless vehicles GM ever produced and that is saying a lot.

Gen Xer here. This has not, nor has it ever been a Gen X vehicle. Nor was the PT Cruiser, the last Thunderbird, or any of the other retro designs from the late 90s and early 2000s. They were targeted squarely at late Silent generation and early Boomers who could taste the nostalgia.

I’m a Boomer and I’ve never understood these. They’re not good ‘vettes, they’re not good pickups, and they’re not good convertibles, plus their styling is pretty cartoonish. For $30K+ there are far better options for a weekend cruiser, a Cars and Coffee conversation piece, or for hauling stuff back from Home Depot. ND!

do it and report back please

For half that, I’d buy it and Coyote swap it. It would be a sleeper. In more ways than one.

This is in amazing shape, I’m glad it exists, but in the end, your living space still consists of a pickup bed that you’re sharing with a lot of stuff. If it were a true overlander that exchanges go-anywhere capability for a few creature comforts, I guess that would be OK. But it’s not that in its current state. ND.

This is an interesting car, but I have no idea of the value.
