Tires make pretty good barriers/bumpers. Cheap, effective, and always readily available.

Kinda beat me to it, but you're using the wrong thing. The seatbelts on my dad's old bubble-top Chevy van were amazing bottle openers. The ones on my Tahoe aren't quite as good, but once you master the technique, they work fine.

I think it should also be stated that if it's not an urgent deal, you should go to Harbor Freight and invest in a jack stand before you jack up your car. Or at least wedge a bunch of wood under there. Jack stands have saved my ass more times than I care to admit.
