I came away from reading this with exactly the same feeling. Atsushi Hashimoto really carries himself well and gives a great impression of his company. An absolute masterclass in how to handle fan feedback (looking at you Niantic!).

What a fantastic interview.
I found it really refreshing to hear an honest response to these questions from a developer that cares, rather than some vacuous marketing soundbite. I’m glad to hear they will be taking on so much of the fan critique into their next games, they’ve put themselves on my radar for future…
I think you’re missing the point. This isn’t an article about NMS being a bad game, it’s about it being a bad PC port.
Oh, and stop preordering video games.
Oh, and I meant to ask before but how long/many posts, does it take to permanently get out of the greys?
I actually think this is a really smart marketing strategy. Growing up in the 90s I have fond memories of THQ published games and I think a lot of other gamers will have too. Capitalising on that nostalgia to resurrect one of the THQ brand can only have a positive impact on Nordic.
Quite possible. People get salty and report accounts at the drop of a hat, I’ve been reported in Counter Strike for using a weapon skin someone else didn’t like. I really don’t think most people give it too much thought after they’ve done the reporting, they just look for the next target of their pre-pubescent ire.
Wit…
Breathtaking. I’m a sucker for sci-fi concept art and these are badass,
shoutouts to images 1 & 9.
Also, I love the titles you guys come up with for these posts!
If a character can’t be countered when spamming a move then that’s up to the developers to fix it.
Smash has a wide player base that includes children, children like to win, children also have small hands and if they can beat an opponent hitting the same move 50 times, why wouldn’t they? They’re probably having a…
Totally agree. It basically introduces an entirely new set of subjective, unwritten rules about how you’re ‘supposed’ to play the game.
If Nintendo didn’t want taunt spamming they could have implemented a cool down, if character’s move sets are too spammy, redesign their move set, if edge camping is an issue, add…
Nintendo’s refusal to build a proper online system is rage inducing.
Why even bother having the report system if there’s absolutely no oversight?
It’s so open to abuse I’m surprised this kind of thing isn’t more common. Hey at least their net code works well enough to implement two different server pools...that’s…
Oh absolutely, for a user who doesn’t know their way around a computer or follow the most up to date op-sec a Chromebook is perfect. A good portion of users already use Google products on a daily basis, many are entrenched in the Google ecosystem to the point where only using Google appls wouldn’t even make them blink…
It’s irrelevant if it also affected other OEMs, right now, if you’re looking to buy a laptop and you have any desire for security then Lenovo should be way down your list. They have a track record of shoddy QA and a money-first approach to user security.
Those ‘dumbasses’ as you call them are the average PC user. It’d…
I’d assume an enterprise division of a company is quite separate from their commercial division, at least I’d hope so given the number of blunders Lenovo have made in the past few years. Their products are on a strict no fly zone for me for the foreseeable future.
Apple don’t make Chromebooks. Chromebooks are a Google…
I wouldn’t trust Lenovo to build-a-bear, let alone a computer. They’re world leaders in security vulnerabilities and some of the build quality of their low/mid end products is appalling.
My Google password is a freaking novel to type out as I never expected to use it outside of a password manager so this is a welcome addition.
It’s a shame my Chromebook never came with a fingerprint sensor, I’m not sure if someone of the newer models do but that’s been the single biggest quality of life improvement…
This, this and more this.
What a patronizingly sanitized press release. The 3 step feature wasn’t ‘confusing’, it was broken. We all understood how it was supposed to work, it just well..didn’t. Claiming it didn’t meet ‘underlying product goals’ is face-punchingly obtuse.
And why on Earth are their programming team…
I sense you’re being overly aggressive on purpose but surely there’s a middle ground between being ‘a fat lazy shit’ and wanting to gain more enjoyment out of the game?
I like Pokémon, I like Pokémon Go, but I also have a job, and a social life. Unfortunately I can’t take x-number of hours out of my day to endlessly…
See the thing is what you’re saying isn’t wrong, I just don’t think this is the article to discuss it on as it doesn’t really relate to the topic.
People will ALWAYS wanted the cheapest possible price for a product, it doesn’t matter if every AAA game went down to 2 bucks tomorrow, someone else would start selling them…
And uninstalled.
Once a game like this becomes a battle ground between its fan base and the developers it can only go one way.
