Image has something to do with it as well. People want to be the VW Samba surfer guy and people want to be the bad ass Dodge Charger guy even if they are some sort of silicone valley big shot who don’t fit into either demographic.

Hey we get those here in NZ! badged as LDV’s (Formerly Leyland DAF Vans).  

This is basically a great alternative to a Motorcycle. Doesn’t take up as much space as a regular sports car either. I wonder If these would be allowed to be imported into New Zealand in the future.

I drive a 2002 E46 coupe (with the 4 cylinder engine ) that I paid under NZ$3000 for. It has the usual 17-YEAR-OLD CAR wear but it’s still solid. probably a more fun car to live with than a 30+-year-old Civic with fewer seats.

Some classic cars are still fairly reasonable compared to original MSRP.

If you are an owner of a pretty decent sized business and this was the car that you had a massive attachment to it because it reminds you of humble beginnings as it was your first car, I would say go for it! but if you are a normal person It probably isn’t a good buy, considering you can get a better all-rounder for
