Indeed, I’d love to see this. I’d love to see Indy go back to a full-on wrench-fest. Maybe some spec parts for safety (driver cell, fuel cell, etc) but a lot more flexibility. I also like Robin Miller’s suggestion of banning carbon fiber (again, perhaps outside the safety cell). Bring on the turbine cars!
