I saw a Q60 the other day. Apparently there’s less than 200 registered in the U.K. which makes it rarer than most Ferraris!

I mean, 3/4 series went from 100k sales to around 40k sales this year. But the X3 went from 30k to 60k sales, x1 went from 60k to 111k sales, and etc.

Pretty much all modern diesels have at least one turbo, the CX-5 diesel has two.

The elephant in the room is why this over a Rav4, Escape or CR-V hybrid? Sure the diesel gets better towing numbers but how many U.S. buyers are are going to tow with their compact crossover?

I’m wondering why Mazda is wasting time and money developing diesels when they’re probably going to be outlawed before too long (at least in the EU). Be interesting to see how the emissions really are when tested independently.

When everything is becoming a plugin hybrid, does it even make sense to deal with diesel anymore? (fewer pumps, the DEF fluid, etc.) Does it feel like there’s even a point? Unless you want towing torque? But a CX-5 isn’t really setup to tow.

Tada implied to me once that the off-the-shelf platforms they had wouldn’t have made the Supra handle the way they wanted. Beyond that it was cost, time and the need to put money into future tech instead of low-volume sports cars.

Sounds like a lot of handwaving from people with an axe to grind. Here are some real numbers :

on top of that he doesnt know anything about the environment either. he criticizes China and India. Well next to china the US is the second largest carbon polluter. And when looking at per capita the US is number one with an emission rate almost 3x larger per person than china. The title should really be changed to

I may be one of the last people on the planet (save the mouthbreathing knuckledraggers who own MAGA hats) who thinks Trump might be smarter than he acts.

It’s also not just LA. Plenty of other areas in the country, including “flyover country” also suffer from high pollution levels. Here are the worst areas per the EPA for PM2.5 pollution.... hell, Cincinnati is about the same as the LA valley anymore - and the areas in CA that suffer the most and need the most

Counterpoint:

More people in America now die by guns than do by car accidents. What does the estimable administration intend to do about that? Make guns even less safe? Increase the lead content of bullets?

Legitimately useful things you can do on a smartphone that you can’t do on a flip phone that a teen might need:

The take-home comp of your friendly neighborhood CPA who is a partner at their firm would absolutely floor most of you. It’s generally not great form to show up at meetings with clients in vehicles which remind your client that the fees you charge result in six-to-seven figures of annual comp, particularly when they

Considering that the Mirage is actually exceeding Mitsubishi’s own expectations, there probably is still a market for that. Cheapskates, people who don’t want to finance, people with a phobia of used cars, plus small businesses and other fleets that need cheap runarounds for their employees. Also commuters that just

Boring company just looks like a quick cash grab at this point, complete vaporware in pursuit of startup-funding contract vehicles. Musk has learned well from his experiences with space travel how to manipulate the government in bids, and Boring company is basically a beltway bandit company in pursuit of that big

Ah yes. 120HP or so out of a N/A 4 tied to a CVT is better just because what, it looks more normal? Skip the torque vectoring AWD, skip the turbo motor (which actually had a decent aftermarket), skip the optional manual (lost the AWD though), skip the actual stiff sports suspension... for what, a generic box on wheels
