I could not imagine how slow a 116i or 114d are. A Prius has more horsepower than either and is faster also. I really do not get the point of these sub 150hp engines in these 3300+ pound plus entry level luxury cars.  The 2 liter in my 228i feels effortless in comparison.

It was a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine with 134 hp.  I currently drive a 228i in America.  Feels like a rocket ship in comparison.

We rented a 118i with a 6 speed in Germany and it was pretty slow even compared to your average American market economy car. Probably would be happy to just take trains when I am over there and not deal with expensive parking and fuel costs.  A 125i or M140i on the Autobahn would have been a different story but it

The E30 M3 had 192 hp while a base Corvette of the era had 240 HP. BMW has never been about raw power. It has been about building a car can perform well which also includes handling and braking.

The Hellcat and Demon are undrivable pigs. I rather have a car that handles like a surgeon’s knife than a sledge hammer.  M2 would be my pick for best BMW though.  I liked driving it better than the Camaro SS and Mustang GT350.

I am just going to leave this here.  The original AE86 was the last of the RWD Corolla line up which the previous gen included a sedan.

Buy a M240i or M2 then because both of them offer the manual as a $0 cost option.

Is this coming to America?

350hp with a well balanced RWD car is pretty damn perfect.  I rather have a car feel like a surgeon’s knife than a sledge hammer.

So M2 and GT86 did not happen?  Toyota and BMW are still capable of making fun cars.

The Supra stock was a heavy over-egineered GT car. This one with modern materials might actually be lighter than the MK4 Supra.

I am hyped for this car and I have not really been excited for a car in a while.  Interested to see how it compares against the M2.

The B58 Inline 6 is a sweet motor.  I think once people drive the new Supra the 2JZ worship will quiet down some what.  Why do people compare a tuned up engine to a stock engine.  I have seen people do some pretty crazy mods with turbo inline 6 BMW motors.

You can get a 340i with a 6 speed and xDrive.

It seems like only BMW/Mini and Porsche allow you get a manual with the equipment you want.

Yeah leaving the WTO worries me because then we would lose our favored nation status related to trade with countries.  Then all these countries could jack up tariffs on our exports.

That would be like saying buying a used 325i is the same as a M3.

Automation is one of my biggest fears that it could leave millions unemployed.  Yeah since people do not like tax increases and Tariffs are a tax I think Trump might have made a fatal mistake politically.

Why should consumers pay more because Trump does not get that automation has had a larger impact on manufacturing in America than imports.  When you can build a thousand cars a day with just a few thousand people and bunch of robots tariffs will not change that.  If we had free University and Technical Schools and

The Southeast has tons of factories that export vehicles and other goods around the world. If the rust belt cannot figure out how to do that it is not my problem.  Automation is a bigger threat anyway then imports especially with the EU having higher labor costs compared to the US.
