After having a new car ruined by a dealership’s crappy work, this is why I have anxiety taking my car to the dealership. Also, being my vehicle is a “Sport” model, its a prime victim for a abusive mechanics test drive like we see on the internet every other week.

All good points with the next to last paragraph answering my question of “Why the hell don’t they just eat the last 30% to save themselves the bad press?” Even if they replace it with a 2021 Escape Titanium, they’d be looking at eating at most about 10 grand which is hopefully less than this whole mess will cost them…

Thanks for your insights! Why wouldn’t rich use a plastic elbow for the repair to minimize the chance of it happening again. How did he get the shavings out from tapping the hole. Did the pump run dry? Will he need to disclose the repair when he sells it?

From what I have read and what was explained in the video , it is a low pressure system and I believe they said max 2psi so the fix is more than adequate.
