I laughed when I saw this on a menu at CLT:

Lighten up Francis. I’m gay and didn’t take any offence to that comment. Consensual anal sex is fun and all, but unwanted anal intrusion in no good no matter your orientation.

not sure you realize this but that was a rape reference, not a homosexual reference.

Even those are priced in the stratosphere, but deals are to be had if you know what you’re looking for and you’re patient. It also helps to be handy, and capable of fixing things. That opens up your market considerably.

It seems more anti-rape than anti-homosexual.  Anti-rape is ok in my book.

By the time I payed the taxes, fees and registration (plus the current prices of used cars) on a beater I probably wouldn't be any further ahead. Needed a van in the next year anyway.

Disagree. There’s nothing about that activity that is exclusive to one orientation or another.

Not sure you realize this but your comment is homophobic. Just being real with you, no vitriol intended.

This. How do MBA, legacy, Trustifarian, douche bros, upper manglement and BODs, not know that repeat business and good customer service is... good for business?

Maybe the pilot has just had a long fucking day and wants to have a cigarette in peace without a bunch of whiny bitch-ass passengers complaining about the smell and how smoking and flying is “dangerous” and you should have your hands at 10 and 2 or whatever on the yoke. I mean, fuck off.

The restaurants provide plastic gloves beside the stack of plates

How did everyone’s mind not go right here. It’s even the LAPD... again

I’m assuming that this shop is ‘sucker charging’ on labor, quoting the book labor charge on each part as if it were a separate job. Probably also charging the ball joint and bushing jobs separately, even though they come connected to the entire replacement suspension arm. Oldest trick in the book.

To myself, it sounds like 2 things could be happening here, maybe both:

Yeah, I was thinking all this myself.... are there even $3500 of suspension components in a GMT2500 chassis?

There are shops that don’t take a $100 part from Rock Auto and quote me $300 for it?  Not that I like it, but seemed pretty much SOP for the industry.

Only way to $3500 in parts is calling the local dealer and buying everything at the walk-in rate plus margin.

Agreed! Something is very wrong here.

Doesn’t an entire ‘96 Suburban go for $3500?

That could be a very dangerous situation if you happened to have the wrong shade of skin.
