COTD.

Here is a vehicle that will make 5000 horsepower all day long. Sadly it is “track only”.

It will be interesting to see how it compares with the Model S, as it has plenty of problems on track. But, with twice as much battery (200 kWh vs 100 kWh), you will end up with 1/4 the heat being generated in the battery pack (heat is resistance* current squared, and the big pack cuts the current per cell in half),

in my P100D, each quarter mile run takes about 1 - 2% of the battery. It’s really not an issue.

also, each quarter mile pass only uses about 1.5% of the battery .. probably similar to how much of a tank of gas the Porsche uses.

i own a P100D. i can do launches all day long, no problem. as many passes or more than any 911 Turbo S. The “prepping the battery pack” only gets you one tenth of a second. even without that, it still stomps the 911 easily. over and over again.

I agree.

Electronic parking brakes - continuing the fine tradition of replacing the simple and functional with the unnecessarily complex.

I wonder if this “roadster” is capable of being driven hard for multiple laps on a track? Cooling of the batteries and other components would be challenging under those conditions. We already know Teslas can do a a handful of repeated sprints, as they get a chance to rest briefly between runs, but to TRULY beat the

I’ve heard this a lot about the charging times. It’s a trade-off, ICE vehicles have the convenience of being able to gas and go in about 3-5 minutes, anywhere in the world, even off of dirt roads in the middle of Podunk where ever. And Tesla owners can charge at home. Sure, EV owners have to be more mindful in

they got three motors now, it shouldn’t be hard to make them run with distinct gear ratio

Have you seen Tesla’s Supercharger coverage? You would have over 600 miles on a charge and hopefully you charge at home. Even on trips, where would you normally go where that would be a problem?

Curious, do you have electricity at your house?

No one gives a fuck.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus sounds like the law firm you’re going to need to represent you after you wreck it into a crowd after cars and coffee.

Suddenly this is meh when there is a 1.9 second 0-60 250+ mph electric car for half the money. What a world we live in.

Dumb comment is dumb.

Citation needed for poor handling. Jalopnik disagreed when they drove the P85D. It’s one of those things I think people often say and I think they just assume to be true because the car weighs so much.

Unpopular opinion, but I give zero shits about the interior if they deliver on those specs.
