Let's hope this gets preceded by a LaTeX compiler for Android (I mean one which actually does the compilation on the device itself rather than in the cloud). That would be much more useful to me.

Tax the internet? We don't even do that here in Europe. Sorry to disturb your fantasy. (of course we do pay VAT on our internet subscription, but there aren't any specialized internet taxes)
Eventually someone will find a way to have an Android phone report itself as a Windows phone and gain access to these hotspots. Let's hope this day comes soon and puts an end to the platform-tying of wifi hotspots.
Usually I'm a big hater of the whole patent-it-so-nobody-can-make-it thing, but in this case go Microsoft! (assuming they aren't really gonna make this) Let's hope this will never invade our living and/or gaming rooms.
OMG is that an extendable antenna? Seriously?
One request: can you keep the RSS feed the way it was when Gizmodo was down? I like that I get the entire post in my feed (as opposed to just the first paragraph and a "read more" link), especially on my mobile devices which display only one article at a time anyway. I know people who mostly use scrolling RSS readers…
Even without QM you can't predict the entire future of the entire universe. Storing all data of all matter in a way which can be read by a computer requires probably a million times as much matter or so (if not more). This means you can only predict what the future of a limited subsystem of the universe would be if it…
Most of those things actually seem more like statues than playground equipment to me, I don't see what you could do with it other than look at it. That said, most of them are quite creepy indeed.
Sounds like a good idea to me. These specs seem amazing for a $100 tablet. The iPad ripoff thing doesn't really attract or repel me to/from this tablet, but the specs combined with the price tag seem like a huge selling point.
Maybe because Apple considers 27 inch appropriate for a tv but 21 inch not? Can't think of any better explanation...
As much as I've come to dislike Microsoft ever since I became a Linux user, I really wanted this thing to make me believe in MS again. Too bad it's a letdown, but on the other hand so are the first iterations of most things, so there's still hope.
Just click all discussions and you'll see multiple commenters saying "if only this thing were VESA mountable" or something similar. Either that or my memory is deceiving me.
Here in the Netherlands I encountered a train toilet which still works the same way (and with the same warning sign) I guess about two years ago. One little difference: it had a hatch at the bottom of the toilet, "flushing" the toilet would open that hatch dropping your stuff on the train rails.
I believe a lot of commenters are pointing out that it's a shame these AREN'T VESA mountable.
Exactly my thought. I guess it makes people think it is better when it really isn't (or maybe it is but for completely different reasons).
I've got a €90 Android with similar specs (except the screen is 320x480 and the SoC is from some non-wellknown brand) but it is definitely a smartphone and I use it as such and I love it. Just because it is low-end does not make it a feature phone. (though I must admit it does have the battery life of a feature phone…
All of this would be so true if the iPhone were a phablet.
Yeah and also it should actually walk, i.e. lifting the foot it moves instead of just sliding it.
Actually I think the basic technology (that would be deconvolution right?) is not that complicated, assuming the blur effect does not fully suppress any frequencies. I do think in order to keep the software simple you have to include a slider bar for the out-of-focus-factor because automatically detecting that would…
I believe they not only use this kind of blurring but also reduce the amount of pixels, which luckily is still irreversible. Not 100% sure though.
