My phone was the Siemens A52 back then. Actually it has been until quite recently (just a month ago), I loved that thing. It had this alarm which went off even if I turned off the phone itself, and the monochrome screen was quite easy on the eyes, not tomention the menus were really intuitive. The battery was prety

Probably the only one interested in this, but...

Isn't the idea of prepaid that you buy credit aforehand and not have the damn thing connected to your bank account, and when you run out of prepaid credit you have to buy more before you can make calls again? Or is pay as you go different from prepaid in this?

I still use a dumbphone, a very ancient one in fact, because I don't want a contract (I hardly make any phone calls or texts and when I access the internet I do so over wifi) and most off-contract smartphones cost more than I give them credit for. But chances are I'll be toting a smartphone a few days from now since

That looks really nasty, good luck with recovery...

Plus, there are other promising technologies.

Even if you know the exact angle you should shoot, it's still pretty hard to pull off... Unless of course you can see an ultra-accurate giant imaginary geometrical triangle next to your arm :P

There is in fact an efficient input method which uses just one button (Morse)... just sayin'

Ok I overlooked the interactive part, you're right.

ok that one is awesome

Ok you have a point here, I have to agree that Googling every piece of hardware in the computer for Linux compatibility is quite a hassle so it is convenient to have Dell do this for you. But even if they do not preinstall an OS and just advertise the hardware as Linux compatible or Linux certified or something you

Isn't this exactly what QRcodes were made for?

I don't really remember what it was, for all I know I was interested in technology before I could talk. Apparently my first word was 'ventilator' and I loved watching washing machines (yes, in the same way as the rain man) when I was a kid.

Even though I am a Linux user, the concept of the ultrabook really appeals to me, even if it's just because my tablet does not support (the ARM version of) any desktop linux distro and therefore lacks the level of functionality I had hoped to squeeze out of it. I end up mostly using my tablet because my laptop is too

+1

I love it!

Wires are actually more efficient for DC than AC. It is the transformation of DC to higher or lower voltages which involves monstrous losses.

For the The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy fans (especially if Marvin is your favorite character):

Back in the days I thought it was quite handy, having a sort of desktop populated with widgets. But soon I noticed how long it took to load when I just needed the Google search box and I got quite annoyed having to load all my widgets before being able to do a search.
