Just speaking for myself, it’s not even really about emotions. Paddington 2 is just insanely inventive in its construction, with comedy set-pieces that genuinely earn comparison to Keaton and Tati. Plus, the screenplay is endlessly witty, something compounded by the performances of an incredible cast.

My feelings about Paddington are similar to Ben Wyatt's feelings about Lil Sebastian. Like, I don't have a problem with Paddington or anything but I have no idea why everyone gets so emotional about him. He's fine? I guess? What am I missing?

Well, I can’t argue with that Number #1 choice of Mad Max: Fury Road. Enjoyed it immensely, still mystified as to why the box office wasn’t greater given the massive critical acclaim (+ awards) and that it was ... well, just such a good looking movie with such great visuals, action and performances.

So what you’re saying is, “with tiny whisk comes great reward.”

I think about my own propensity towards easy or escapist movies and how I could stand to try a little harder, but even reading this review is a raw nerve.

Oh, I am definitely right:

This is the best pumpkin hack since Ichabod Crane.

Based on the story that showed that Lovecraft was just as terrified of the Electromagnetic Spectrum as he was of air conditioners and anyone who wasn’t white and upper class.

He ultimately didn’t come on as a producer. And in his recent comments he said that the character’s transformation into an “abstraction” i.e a “comic book character” is an issue for him. I don’t think it actually qualifies as a theme park though. There’s hardly any action sequences.

And moviegoers mindless devotion to a series of movies is totally by design, it's like crack to people who don't want to think when going to a movie

Honestly, the Invasion subject is one of the few bits I agree with him about. It’s no secret that Disney’s been strongarming theaters to devote as many screens to their films for as long as possible. With the Fox acquisition, they’re, what, 30-40% of the domestic box office?

“If you’re going to watch Blazing Saddles in 2019, your cringe muscles are going to get a workout”

Mark Evan Jackson likes to call The Good Place “the smartest dumbest show on TV”; Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein work the same way. They’re spot-on satires and, in the case of Saddles, a scathing social commentary. But Brooks never forgets they have to be funny too. So we have a perfect replica of James

Now playing

I’ve always heard people claiming that “You couldn’t make Blazing Saddles today!”, and yet shows like It’s Always Sunny get away with similar jokes.

I’m kind of surprised you didn’t feature the “morons” speech Wilder gives Little. It basically is the conceit of the entire movie, right? And it’s among the best fucking scenes in movies.

“Harriet Tubman escaped slavery in 1849, making the 90-mile journey from Maryland to Pennsylvania on her own after previously trying to flee with her brothers. Tubman made at least 13 more trips to the South, leading at least 70 enslaved people (though some have suggested the number is as high as 300) to freedom,

I prefer to think that is Trump’s official portrait.

I’ve been in Gion early last year... it was bound to happen. I’ve also been in Kyoto some 12 years ago during the same period of the year... between then and last year, the number of tourists went up some 10 fold or more. At some specific places during specific times of the year, I wouldn’t be surprised if tourism had

Good for them, American and Chinese tourists ruin everything.

Now I want cinnamon buns. Thanks Claire.
