Most of the old testament stories are literally deus ex machina stories. Hero wants to do something, encounters difficulty, believes in God, God does it for him*. It’s not a deep read unless you want to try to figure out which parts are “real.”

What the world needs is a Crypt-Keeper-style horror anthology series MC’ed by this version of the Joker. Tales From the Asylum.
I was waiting for the movie to come out.
Put it this way: Superman could blow up the Earth. Lois can talk him out of it. The only other people who could do that are his parents and Batman, and they can’t hook up because workplace romances mess with job performance.
“What do you call yourselves?”
For some reason, Pixar is weirdly bad at making teasers and previews.
Get Out’s box office take is so far $255,000,000. Even if people caught the matinee, and everyone only saw it once, that’s only 25,000,000 people having seen Get Out, in a country of over 350 million.
A good relationship must be among equals. Diana is the super-powered princess/goddess of an island paradise who (currently) has no secret identity and has been to space multiple times. Jim from Sales is not going to be able to show her a good time.
The smarter you are, the better you are at convincing yourself that you’re right.
I don’t go to movies much because unless a flick is really good, I end up walking out after the credits concocting a darkly satirical version of it in my head.
War Machine is hobbled by being the less charismatic black sidekick in the MCU (shout-out to Falcon) and also by being named “War Machine.”
That might just be its association with the black trenchcoat mafia and Columbine. Because Keanu Reeves has killed waaaaaaayyy more people in his recent flicks, they’ve come out with, like, 2 Punisher movies and a TV show, a show about a cannibal serial killer, a show where a guy beats two other guys to death on camera…
I agree. It added tension to the story when it was possible for Tony to get caught defenseless.
It’s your own fault if you become an asshole too.
It’s nice that an Asian voice actress got such a plum lead role with Korra, but I wouldn’t have guessed it from the performance.
If casting directors disproportionately aren’t hiring Asians for animation roles, it’s because those casting directors are kind of racist, and not because animation needs more Asian characters. American animation SHOULD use more Asian characters, but that doesn’t mean they need to hire Asian voice actors to play them!
You’re right! It either comes out sounding like an experimental Taco Bell sandwich or a Japanese car manufacturer!
Fans.
Representation of diverse characters on screen, and the hiring of diverse actors off-screen, I think, are completely separate issues when it comes to animation and voice over.
