I love it when white “powerful” men get so mad that their actions and words have consequences now. No longer can they just float by in the ether to set the tone for the rest of us.

Bigot tears are low-fat, low-carb, and alcohol free, so you are good. However, call a doctor if you have an erection lasting longer than 4 hours.
When you give rights to the minority, you take rights away from the majority—-simple logic.
At what point should I stop drinking tears if I have to drive later on?
“[O]ne or 2 quick swats” IS “a grown person hitting their child.” That is what a swat IS.
There are also quite a few states that still allow corporal punishment in school, which is mind boggling. Parents have to give permission for the principal to beat their kid....guess who gets disproportionately spanked?
Well yeah, I think absolutely. There is a big difference between physically restraining a child so they don’t put themselves in danger (which might involve a yank or a grab if its sudden and needed) and hitting them/smacking them/’grabbing them’ as punishment.
Spanking is not effective, and it’s actually been studied.
OMG. We arent even engaged yet and we’ve been getting comments about how ~exotic~ our kids will look. I feel weird empathizing/criticizing those kind of comments because I am white, but if you want exotic go the gd aviary. Anyone who calls my maybe future kids exotic when they are here will get a boot up their…
Yep. I’ve yanked my son by the arm when he wanted to run off into traffic after scratching the shit out of my arm, but I didn’t spank or kick him. Because I am sane.
Yeah, people use the street, and it only a little sense when you’re having a discussion with someone who has never been around a toddler and says things like its never okay to grab them, you just have to use words. In those cases, I offer to see about getting them a loan of a two or three-year old for a day. But while…
Sorry, no. You’re hitting a child. How is that EVER okay?
The street is always the example they give to support spanking. I don’t get this. When something like that has happened with my kids, I hold their shoulders, bend/kneel to look at their square in the face, and then do whatever explaining and scolding is needed. Yes sometimes you have to grab little hands, pull kids…
Eh, as someone who hasn’t always felt comfortable in her looks (in my mind I still wear a headgear and have some unfortunate bangs) I don’t exactly mind comments like that from my grandma or a friend. I did, however, hate that I was expected to be super constantly excited about being engaged/my wedding AT ALL TIMES. I…
So if you are worried about your child being injured after falling onto the street, just kick and smack them. Got it.
It’s wrong to hit children. It’s wrong to hit people. It’s particularly gross to spank a child. There’s a degree of humiliation involved that has nothing to do with correcting a behavior and everything to do with dominating a defenseless vulnerable little human.
This specific case makes me see red. Look, I’ll freely admit I’ve spanked my kids when they’ve done something dangerously disobedient—like running headlong into the street or throwing a huge rock at someone’s head. Coming from a very pro-spanking background, however, I can tell you it it’s neither effective nor…
At the same time, the court sought to strike a balance between parental rights and protecting children against abuse. In cases where it is difficult for authorities to distinguish between discipline and abuse, children’s safety should be given priority.
Nothing makes a child feel loved, protected, and nurtured like being assaulted.
THANK YOU. The worst is when people act like you OWE it to them to look “like a bride.” I got my hair cut recently, and when I went home for Memorial Day, people were saying things like, “Ah, well that’ll probably be the last time you can get it cut before The Wedding. You need to give it time to grow out.”
