Some are exported, but most are scrapped. A big fucking waste, because a lot of the time, those 10-year old cars are still strong and reliable, and keeping them on the road will probably use up less resources than to keep buying new cars all the time.

It's been said many times before me, but as a Singaporean, I have to speak out about this miserable rock on which I live. Our whole taxation scheme has been well documented before, so I'm not gonna go into that here. I'll just throw out the prices for a few new cars and let the numbers to the talking.

At least you don't have to contend with COE, and actually have the choice of buying a nice, interesting used '90s car, rather than having all of them disappear from the roads. Plus, your fuel is subsidised as well. Trust me, it's a lot more miserable being an enthusiast in Singapore.

No, you literally do need to leave the country for nice roads.

Wow, you were quick on that one...

Final submission and it's something a little different - the mule for Gordon Murray's T25, as tested by Steve Cropley of Autocar (look how happy he is!)

That roofline reminded me just a teeny bit of the New Beetle. Otherwise, I'm loving the disguise!

Well, this is Jalopnik so I guess you could be forgiven :p

Dammit, you just broke my personal DoWant-O-Meter!

That's simply incredible.

This one's got to be in the running; was featured in EVO June 2012 (the 760RS issue). Meet 'Nonno' (Italian for grandfather), the Pagani Zonda that's served as a development hack for every single variant produced. It's Zonda chassis #2 (#1 was used for crash testing), built in 1998 and covered more than a million km

Sacrilegious it may be, but I actually preferred the F-type's development hack to the finished product:

Cool, didn't know you frequented Jalopnik too. You do the Garage36 blog as well right?

It does, but it's a lot weightier than today's hydraulic setups, not to mention electric ones.

Thanks! Are you the same Mockingbird on BMW SG?

Thanks! Though I can't claim credit for its condition since my family only bought the car in 2011. Those alloys were my addition though. This is what the car looked like when bought it:

One owner? Wow! Incredible you've been rocking that old girl for so long! The M3 yours as well?

Cosworth? Those Evo rims look great!

Feeling the love here! (proud owner of a W201)

OH. I feel silly now. :(
