Minivan racing ftw (and I beat that Evo too!).

I don’t know about ‘best’, but my own hand-me-down is a ‘78 Ford Cortina which my uncle had bought new and daily’d all the way till last year, which makes me owner #2. Here it is with some other random old Ford.

put yourself in an Indian’s shoes. Would you still choose to be on a bike if, like them, you didn’t have the luxury of all your fancy riding gear?

I would rather have had my holiday not ruined :(

In Dec 2013, my friends and I rented a (at the time) 4 or 5 year old Honda Civic 1.8 from a local (Singapore), independent rental company for a 4 day trip to Malaysia. It gave us plenty of memories, for a plethora of reasons.

Pffffft. Peasants.

It’s the concept of the traction circle. Your tyres only have a finite amount of grip. You can use any combination of acceleration, braking and turning, up to that limit. In this case, the guy was using up all that grip for braking, so he didn’t have any left over for steering. ABS or not.

Tinted carbonfibre weave is probably my favourite finish to any car’s exterior. That said though, I think the P1 does have a certain something to it in pure white (or maybe cos it’s also basking in the combined awesomeness of the car next to it as well):

Two weeks ago, my friends and I took part in a Time Attack-style trackday. The car I used was family minivan, a 2006 Mitsubishi Grandis. Other than the 2nd-hand UHP tyres I fitted (Advan AD08Rs in front, BFGoodrich G-Rivals on the rear), the car is completely stock, all 2.4L and 160hp of family sensibleness of it.

hahaha it’s a 2.4L minivan with a 4-spd auto. No traction control, but then it’s not powerful enough to spin the tyres. Disabling traction control - try pulling the fuse? xD

I think anything can be fun under the right circumstances and right mindset...

I guess it might have to do with the rally regulations for the class they wanted to enter? That and weight too - the 4cyl is bound to have a sharper front end than the V6, and that’s an important attribute for rallying.

Does the RDX not have a sequential mode for the transmission? That way you could control when the shifts happen if you’re driving spiritedly.

I guess a big part of the fun comes from the environment as well. If someone were placedin a scenario where they could drive as hard as they dared without consequences, I defy

Took the words right out of my mouth. In this case, I feel like they could have shifted the Tesla piece to another episode (or the Vulcan, but that was a brilliant way to open the show), and filled up the 10min with more challenges in the train race. I was honestly surprised when after SIARPC they didn’t continue on

Well, I don’t think the three stooges were best buddies either when they first started out.

It’s totally unfair to compare the new TG team with the very best moments and memories of the old three we’ve compounded over 13 years and 23 seasons. A fairer comparison would be to see how new TG stacks up against old TG’s

Any reason why/how he got off their blacklist?

Oh yeah, went to a car show on sunday so i’ve loads...

I noticed that too... Scooter rider doesn’t seem like he should be there

Glad to see you back. I rather enjoyed your “How to Drive Fast” articles back then, but only recently have I had the chance to put some of that information into practice.
