All the people I know with rental houses cashed out with this crazy market this year.

My friend bid on a house with an inspection contingency, and was told they would not accept the offer with an inspection.  They were the highest of 2 offers, so its not like it was a bidding war.  I would have walked.

I am in the Detroit area and the spring sales season was bananas.  My neighbors decided to sell and every house was a bidding war.  Houses are easily up 30-50% over what they were 5 years ago.  They nearly doubled their money on a house they have been in for 5 years.

I agree. You can technically have “brand ambassadors” at the store to answer specific questions about the car, accompany people on a test drive, and handle all of the interpersonal stuff.  If they have no incentive to make a sale, they will come off more genuine.

Neutral:

The tire/fuel economy thing depends on how the automaker wants to cert the vehicle. For emissions, you have to cert the worst-case tire/configuration in the emissions family, and for fuel economy you test the highest volume tire/configuration.  Depending on how they want to slice and dice it, you can get away with

I don’t see how the Santa Cruz will compete with the Maverick. Worse fuel economy, awkward overstyled looks and starting price $5k higher. Tough day for Hyundai

Based off of the Focus platform and a Focus ST exists outside of the US, so the parts are there to accomplish this.

I think so, and also the decision to focus on contractor grade trucks as well was smart, since I could see fleets adopting these for service trucks. Unlike the CyberTruck or the Hummer truck, which no fleet would buy.

Not really how it all works.  Generally companies need 50% of parts on hand to launch a safety recall.

make a complaint to safercar.gov...its understandable that a dealer cannot simply drop everything to fix your car first, but they need to schedule recall repairs if the remedy is available.

I took a nap in the middle of reading this article it was so boring.

We used to keep a fire hat around at one of the places I worked, and whoever started a fire got to keep it at their workstation until the next person had one, so in honor of that here you go:

Automakers were fine with the rules Obama rolled out in 2012 because automakers had 12 years to figure out how to get there. Then the leadership in the country lowered it and now wants to raise it. But thats only 3 years away now, and it takes a little longer to turn the ship than that.

Fun fact:

I get that a lot of these interstate projects divided many cities, generally through minority or poor neighborhoods, but what is the benefit of dozing them now? Its not like the Berlin wall is keeping families and friends separated. People moved on and into new housing and started new communities. I agree the suburban

If the government gave everyone a free ID, then the voter ID law would not be racist.  But if you have to pay for an ID and take a day off at the DMV that is only open during bank hours, it becomes more difficult for the poor to obtain an ID.

And for the price they are stating for the Maverick (starting under $20k), you cannot get any other vehicle with 5.5' of cargo space while carrying 4 passengers.

I guess it depends on how frequently/infrequently you would need to do this.  It sounds like a genuine pain in the ass to do that 12 times or more a year.

The 5.5' bed is fine for hauling long lumber. Just strap it down. I brought home some 12' oak and poplar 4/4 boards just recently to build some furniture and drove it an hour home without any problems. Same with plywood, it just rests on the top of the closed tailgate.
