You are right about one thing, sometimes it is time to go and pursue your dreams somewhere else. It looks like they are finally going off to form a new site that is more in line with how jalopnik started in the old days, before it became a cesspool of clickbait and ads.

Yep its a chicken-egg argument. Sure, the outsourced to china products are cheaper than American-made ones. But if American companies went back to paying higher wages for labor, we could afford the better products made here, which would just feed back into the local economy.  Instead we have a huge portion of our

I agree. My wife drives an Explorer ST because it is quick and fits the family of 4 for our trips. If they didnt make something like that we would be stuck with a boring SUV since a proper fast car would not be practical.

Almost makes more sense that he is saving the difference from the Camry payment to the Tesla payment.  So if the Camry was $300/mo and this is $600 then he is saving 300 on gas that would be reasonable.

If I recall there are limits to how many gliders a company can produce, like a kit car manufacturer.

Maybe we can make Drew Clinton, the rapist as famous as Brock Turner, the rapist that raped and got off.

That was my  thought as well...why would you just randomly go for a walk through the woods rather than down the road to the next exit or something.

Agreed. If the emergency crews could not get people off the highway for 15 hours, what makes them think they can magically trample through all of the wooded area within a one mile radius of his car to find a potentially lost person.

I definitely think that GM phoned it in with the GMT900 and K2XX generations.  The current generation they definitely went for it in the design department, and love it or hate it, the interior is atrocious.  Looks like they finally designed a competitive interior for 2022, but they are about 4 years behind the

I never knew this.  The only 4.7 I had was a lease so it never affected me.

I think a more apt comparison about how non-car people approach car buying would be to how non-tech people purchase phones these days. I dont think anyone is out there modifying refrigerators or washing machines, but there are a lot of people who are really into phones.

and less engine fires

I started driving in the 90s and my boss at the golf course had one of these.  They never really did it for me.  This was that weird time in Oldsmobile history where they wanted to be sporty and luxury at the same time, and somehow kind of failed at both.  I always felt the Park Avenue and the Bonneville had distinct

My parents had a 1972 cutlass when I was a wee lad, and it had that same glorious floral green seat fabric.  Thanks for the memories!

People should not use any type of lifts without jackstands.  When I worked in the shops we had tall screw jacks we would put under the vehicle front to back to keep it from rocking and/or falling if a large part of the vehicle was removed, throwing off the weight balance.

The front tower and façade looks cool, but like others have said, there is not much left of the building. Unfortunately this part of Detroit is not great. There is nothing around here that would draw the types of employers that could afford to restore the building to its former glory. Its probably for the best that

I totally agree with your assessment.  At the end of the day, corporations are beholden to their shareholders to maximize profits and shareholder value.  Anything that runs counter to that mission will be met with resistance.  Now I do not always feel that our government has everyone’s best interest at heart either,

Oh fuck right off...The article clearly states that the driver went the wrong way down a one-way trail and drove off the road in an attempt to turn around. I don’t see a “Fuck Around and Find Out” mode.

We bought in 2017.  Our neighbors sold the exact same layout house with none of the upgrades and a smaller lot for 25% more than we paid in 2017. Its tempting to want to cash it out, but then where do you go?  We refinanced, but didn’t take any money out, lowered our payment/interest rate, but we are still paying the
