I agree with the assessment that we should target lighter cars with smaller range. I actually think the 250-300 range is the sweet spot for the average owner.

Seems like a total FCA Stellantis move to introduce an all-new vehicle in 2021 with the only powertrain options being a pushrod V8 and a V6 with no hybrid option...
Completely different. One was a RWD vehicle with solid axles and the other was a FWD Dodge Caliber.
Have you ever daily driven a Wrangler?
Probably because you get so much more for your money with a Raptor. Not only is it quick an extremely capable off-road, it has great on-road manners, can tow 8000 lbs, has room for a family of 5 to go on vacation, and can carry a decent amount of cargo.
Not sure if you have ever seen a development mule up-close or not, but they are more science project than production intent. It is completely plausible that this could be a build issue since they are literally built by hand.
You clearly know nothing of the auto industry, because automakers have been making development mules for decades using repurposed vehicle shells to install future powertrain/chassis components for testing.
Well she didn’t mention the militia so Jackson is out.
Because the common trope on Jalopnik is that a minivan is the only vehicle anyone should buy if they have kids or put things in their car.
Might as well call it the “no step on snek”
There is not an actual lumber yard within 50 miles of me that I know of. The rest of them closed up. And the yard I referred to closes at 5:30p during the week, open half day Saturday and closed Sunday. Doesn’t really work for me.
There are about 5-6 local hardware stores that are franchised within a couple miles of my house. And every single time I decide I will just run to the one on the corner, they end up not having the thing I need, and I have to drive to Home Depot anyway.
I get free oil changes on my current lease, and I find it less convenient, especially during COVID, to drive out to the dealer, wait an hour or so, then drive back. Add to this that I have to find a slot where I dont have meetings for 2 hours, since the quick lane is really only open during business hours.
Every time I try to go to the local hardware store, they never have what I want, and I end up at Home Depot anyway.
you must live 3 hours from the nearest taco bell then.
I use my phone and often leave my truck running when its winter, but I ALWAYS ground myself before I touch the pump handle.
Dodge doesn’t offer top down versions of anything
I don’t see it...I mean, they have the Bolt and a Bolt that is maybe a crossover? They said they are going to have an electric truck in the next year or so and then they are going to go all Oprah and make it all electric.
I think I could do 250 as a minimum, assuming the charging infrastructure is improved from where it is today. Living in the Detroit area, most of my road trips are to northern Michigan, Chicago, or Cleveland. I can reach any of those places on a single charge or with one short charging stop while we use the restroom.
