Yes this makes no sense at all.  When I lease, I literally do not give any fucks.  I take care of the car and try to avoid unneccessary wear and tear, but if it gets hit or something mechanical fails, its not my problem anymore.  As long as I have a car to drive it doesnt matter to me.
