This isn’t a man’s truck, this is a Hipster poser truck.
I don’t need a couple more years of perspective to understand how fucked up the war on drugs really was. If the penalty for Crack was higher than for Cocaine (it was) then it shows how this “war” was not about drug use and was instead about putting minorities in prison.
Its an assembly plant, 99% sure its a DC nut runner
I have worked as a regulatory engineer in both safety and emissions for the better part of a decade.
This is one of those cars that you have to view through the lens of the 80s to fully appreciate. I think a lot of cars from that generation are in the same boat, because everything was slow back then.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I am kinda over Cadillac as a whole. Like, I know I should care that they are coming out with high horsepower sedans with manual transmissions, but I literally cannot give any shits. Its like somebody at GM just keeps throwing money into shit that 5 people care about.
I think you have to give it some time. When the muscle cars were kneecapped back in the early 70s with catalytic converters and other emissions controls, it took a couple decades to return cars to their former glory, but eventually we got machines like the Hellcat and the GT500.
This seems like a good time to use the adage: “A Grinder And Paint Makes The Welder I Ain’t.”
Thats a fair assessment. Whenever I have discussions with non-car people about owning an old used car, I always preface it with the fact that they will likely end up spending a good chunk of their savings from not having a car payment on repairs.
Sorry I missed that, my ADD kicked in about halfway through.
If the moral of the story is that you should learn how to wrench if you want an older car, then sure. But if the moral of the story is that shops charge too much, I am going to have to stop you right there.
Relatively speaking, for somebody who was in the Senate, a Governor of a State, and a Vice President, MF is broke.
He can’t even reverse-mortgage his shit!
An interesting article from 2019 suggests they broke as shit, with barely any assets and just his pensions, which while not insignificant, are not that much either.
New Edge Mustangs, ranked:
I transitioned to a job where I spent a decent portion of my time in the lab to one where I am 99% desk jockey 2 weeks before we were sent home from the pandemic, so nothing too exciting.
I prefer the new edge Mustang over the original SN-95.
There once was a Man named Tracy
Whose Jeeps all leaked like crazy
But then the city came knockin’
And no one found it shocking
When he escaped to the land of Mercedes
I don’t think its too late, because there are ways to rebuild the manufacturing network in the United States and increase tariffs to ward off products from China. But I don’t see it happening without a shift in corporate mindset about profits, shareholder value, and executive compensation.
