This is a bad take and you should feel bad about it.

Justin Guarini, and I did not know that!
Yep, as loathsome as Trump was, he actually had an “education” (seriously, I can do this with a straight face), but Boebart has zero education and zero experience dealing with anyone besides nutjobs in Bumfuck, CO. Trump rubbed elbows with real politicians and billionaires his whole life.
Apparently everyone does want a fully optioned SUV if you look at the sales numbers.
Average car price last year topped $40k.
I spent 3 years at FCA after the Fiat merger, and they never actually realized any of the efficiencies that merger was supposed to create. There were a couple shared platforms, but in reality they operated like a separate companies with a few products in common.
Not only is the tarriff on American cars high, they force foreign automakers into a joint venture with a domestic company in order to produce vehicles there.
I worked for one of the Big-3 and they had union photographers at our facility. We were not allowed to take photos, we had to put in a request to get a photograper to come take photos. It was a giant pain in the ass.
Actually the issue of quality between the American and Japanese companies is less about individual component quality, and more about the development process. Toyota is known for keeping most of the hard parts in the vehicle constant for a long time. They generally have less exciting features, but they have been…
The issue is balance...if you increase the quality of one part by $1, that’s easy enough to account for. But each car is comprised of thousands of parts, so you have to decide where to spend the money, or you end up with a car nobody will buy.
Dodge made trucks for like 90 years before they split off to the stand alone Ram brand. There is a lot of precedent of Dodge making normal cars and trucks.
I remembered it, but lets face it, that was never meant to be a volume seller.
I think FCA really let a lot of the heritage die on the vine over the past decade or so.
Anti-seatbelt/Anti-maskers are generally the same small government, pro-capitalism types that cant stand having their rights taken away.
Because the truth has been so cleverly hidden from the general public for years. They don’t teach the truth in history class, they teach a bunch of feel-good stories. So many of the white middle class just think the truth is made up, since its so far off from the story they have been told since birth.
They are still going to be built out of sheetmetal, so instead of gas/diesel exhaust noise we will just hear them banging their way down the street, doors and packages thumping around.
I think the vehicles themselves are apples and oranges. The E-Transit is a traditional “van” with an electric powertrain, where this is a commercial step van more in-line with a UPS Delivery truck that is larger and operates in a different space. This truck has a higher GVWR and can afford to package more batteries…
I don’t even understand the obsessive fandom of athletes. Like, you are a grown man wearing a jersey with another grown man’s name on it...
Ford has lost money in South America for forever. They have tried unsuccessfully to become profitable, and they have decided to stop the bleeding.
Not really slang that isnt used anymore, but my buddy was telling me his kid asked him to “power up the window” in the car, since he had never used a crank window, and the idea that you would roll up a window made no sense to him.
