I think the Bronco is a bit different, since the base engine will be the high volume variant and more than adequate based on its performance in the Ranger, and that it has more power/torque than anything in the Wrangler (except the diesel).

I see that trend and I do not understand it either. It seems it would make more sense to only offer the manual in the top engine, most sport trim only if you are going to invest the time/money into development of only one variant.
But why would they? There are no competitors with a manual. They are not losing any measurable amount of sales because of it.
I sold my Focus ST a couple years ago because I had 2 other cars, and it had begun to feel like too much of a compromise to daily drive. Not quite quick enough, not really enough cargo capacity. It was fun to drive, but I had to move on to something more practical as a daily driver.
Scams generally have one of the following:
I disagree with this. Prius buyers bought them up when they came out because there were no other decent alternatives. Prius was the only game in town. Now the hybrid RAV4 and Camry outsell the Prius, because people want normal cars.
When we drove cross-country, I wanted to kill myself going across Wyoming. Not because it didnt have great scenery, but I ran out of coffee about a half hour out of Cheyenne, and it was about 2 hours before I found a business that was open.
Except there are not that many normal looking electric vehicles out there that are worth a shit, so everyone buys the Tesla. There is the Electric Jaaag and the E-tron, but otherwise there is the Bolt, the BMW i3/i8, and a bunch of other goofy ass shit.
I totally agree. I see an electric F150 as a huge positive. For a truck, I want something on a proven platform that looks like a normal truck. I do not want some weird ass looking truck or something with a ton of gimmicks. I am going to use it to tow my boat and haul shit all the time. I want it to be reliable.
Unfortunately, Obamacare is shit. Its not Obama’s fault, but it is a shit program. We need a real socialized medicine program that provides affordable care to everyone in the United States regardless of financial or citizenship status. Every other developed and industrialized nation can seem to provide it, yet here…
Did you hear if it will be getting a 2-stroke?
I think it comes with age. Staring down on 40, I have a lot more anxiety about this being all there is in life. Seems like a lot of things are simply not as exciting as they used to be. Thankfully, while I am not in my ‘ideal’ job, I am doing something that I am good at and enjoy for the most part. Its the rest of…
Funny is that I want to bag on GM for the opposite reason: They shouldn’t be doing this at all.
Garbage Lives Matter!
You do realize that the turbo v6 and the NA V8 have the same emissions and OBD requirements, right? Both engines have DOHC, both engines have VVT, both engines have all of the same sensors. The only difference is one of them has a spoolie boi on the front and a high pressure boost tube between them. Otherwise, there…
What the Cadillac has is an electric brake boost system, and it still has a physical connection between the pedal and wheels.
Most new vehicles are still traditional systems.
Brake-by-wire is a bit of a misnomer, since there is still a physical connection from the pedal to the brakes. More specifically, these are referred to as Electronic Brake Boost (EBB) systems. Common on hybrids and turbo cars, they combine brake assist into the ABS HCU to eliminate the need to fit a vacuum pump to…
I think this is my gripe with GM in general. They seem to have solid engines and great performance in their flagship products (Camaro, Corvette, Cadillac V-Cars) but everything else about those cars feels like a rental car special.
Interesting point, I never thought about that. Police is the 16th most dangerous job in the US according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Behind pilots, roofers, truck drivers, garbage men, farmers, iron workers, landscapers, Construction laborers, and agricultural workers.
