Barbra definitely was not a victim there. She made a huge deal about a house being in an album of thousands of photos about coastline erosion that nobody was actually going to see or know it was her home (not like it was labeled “Barbra Streisand’s house”).

Streisand wasn’t the victim.. that’s not how it works.

Every year she remembers that day - and the cabbie who may have saved her life. He got stopped in heavy traffic coming from the airport. He told her he was trying a ‘faster’ route. That’s why they were late.

Yep. I was stunned by how few older cars I saw on a trip to Ontario. Everything there is 15 years-old or newer.

Oh wow. My cousin was in a taxi at the foot of the North Tower where she was supposed to have a meeting (above the impact). She was late. A piece of plane engine hit the street near them when the first plane hit.

On September 11, 2001, my mom, little sister and I were supposed to board separate flights out of New York. I was to return home to Arizona, while they were heading to Santa Cruz, California, as my sister was about to matriculate at UCSC. Of course, that didn’t happen, as the world completely changed between the time

I was driving from Colorado to Tennessee.  Somewhere in Kansas I stopped to get fuel and the engine would not restart.  I checked I bought gasoline.  I tried to drain the fuel tank.  After a few hours, the engine started and ran okay.  Then about 3 hours from my destination, the check engine light started to flash.

And a lifetime of grocery store-church-cemetery-home” driving is really hard on a car. 30k miles of interstate travel is where it’s at.

I have bought several old cars with very high mileage and been pleasantly surprised by all of them.

My current stable includes a 912E with unknown mileage, suspected to be in the high six figures, and a 944 Turbo with half a million miles on the original turbo and a head that has never been off of the block. Both run

But it uh... it IS a fancy Land Cruiser. Even the brand-new 2021s are 95% the same vehicle, separated by fancypants suspension, audio systems, and dashboard designs.

I made the mistake a couple of years ago of driving across Nebraska on Highway 2 from Alliance to Grand Island.  Through the Sand Hills.  The only time I’ve ever been so bored that it caused a panic attack.  Not even kidding

This is wrong. It’s considered a Land Cruiser by everyone but pedants.

It turns over by hand! (After a healthy helping of ATF in the cylinders).

If I can get the FC running, I shall sell the Lexus.

Plus, in honesty, it’s all about the clix.

I think fancyland cruiser works fine.

The postal Jeep was great!

I have no problems with it.  The LX is known as the “pink panties Land Cruiser” so I’ll allow some name crossover.
