I'm not judging HS's friend. Just trying to understand. And I think attraction that's mostly based on gender identity and attraction that's mostly based on biological sex are (probably?) both things, but I don't know the proper terms for it.

Well that would imply that black people are actually over-represented in movies and TV, which I'm not sure is the case. Particularly in movies I'd say black people are still under-represented. TV seems more diverse than movies at the moment though.
