I always thought when the TV exec suggests that the characters on Itchy & Scratchy should be asking, “Where’s Poochie?” whenever he isn’t on screen was just a funny bit of absurdity. But I’m realizing that this was actually meant to placate an audience that genuinely wanted to know where Poochie went.

I couldn't get into Futurama because John Futurama never showed up *once*.

It actually says “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” on the package.

This is a hilarious instance to get upset about what you’re claiming though. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is already a deliberate attack on the straight white male protagonist. Scott Pilgrim is not a likable character (that was a big part of why I had mixed feelings about the movie). The point is that he’s a selfish

Nah, this was made for the fans and the fans wanted to see more content from all their favourite characters.

Nah, it was actually great, and a majority of the criticism comes from people who can’t process stories they don’t immediately relate to.

People incapable of character growth hate character growth.

So you know how in the US even a little sexuality gets a game an M rating? The same is true in Japan for any game that allows killing civillians. In Goldeneye you can kill scientists and in Jet Force Gemini you can kill the civillians.

Yeah I think calling this a “remaster” is the problem here. Just call it an enhanced port or something.

Too soon to me is inextricably linked to cost and backward compatibility. If it’s a free/cheap upgrade for existing owners, go nuts. If you’re bringing it to a new platform with graphical enhancements, sure. If it’s for a new console that’s not backward compatible with the last generation, fine. But we’re already at a

The Wii U sold 13.5 million consoles. The Switch has sold 132 million. So for uh, most people, Mario Kart 8 was brand new to them. And Nintendo has certainly been keeping it updated with DLC.

I think it’ll be interesting what a theoretical MK9 or new Smash Bros looks like, considering all the content in the current

because that kind of very-online anti-fun/creativity “criticism” is exhausting and pretentious

I haven’t seen the film but the clips of Phoenix’s performance aren’t really driving me to do so. The stylistic choice of putting the work in on the troops, costuming, sets, etc. then have him deliver all his lines in a flat unaccented delivery is certainly... a choice.

so maybe some French filmmaker should make a movie about an iconic-yet-problematic British historical figure”

Wellington is literally right there, AVClub.

no other director has had a run of bad movies like ridley. It’s incredible. Nobody else would get to deliver that many bombs and still get hired. The reason it happens now of course is that he’s willing to soil his (ill-deserved imo) reputation as a big, epic historical filmmaker on cheap streaming junk like this

It’s a pretty fucked up situation.

I think if I had one fewer “real life” friend or grew up under different circumstances, I’d probably wind up another one of those guys.

There’s a whole generation of men who simply cannot deal with the fact they can’t just “get the girl” doing X, Y or Z like in games or movies.

What’s

I know a lot of men are feeling defensive about this kind of thing. But we kind of made our own bed with this nonsense. It’s not necessarily our fault that men are broken. Both sides agree on that. One side has this John Wayne fallacy in their heads where this crisis of masculinity has something to do with traditional
