For me, the parts of Black Flag that made it great were the parts that had nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed, so in that sense the ‘best AC game’ to that point was good for being not a good AC game.

That’s not a good thing, man.
If emulation is bad, please tell me the “good” way for me to play something like Kid Icarus Uprising.
The Wii had nearly-mandatory motion controls, man. That’s the definition of unconventional design, regardless of its internal components.
And everything you just described about the Switch—particularly with the detachable controller and “video-out port” is also unconventional design. Otherwise, why hadn’t any other…
The first time I was sailing in the fading dusk and my crew started to sing “Lowlands Away” is a treasured, core gaming memory for me.
First game I ever played on the PS4 (which was a reward to myself for a critical life milestone that seemed more and more hopeless...)
Or it could just be like a lot of their patents where they're securing an idea they had and nothing will actually come of it, like most of the time this comes up.
Perhaps the handheld device could also be a (knock on wood) less expensive alternative to buying a Switch 2 for folks without disposable incomes.
Then why did you feel the need to be contrarian in the first place? That's not the behavior of someone content with their choices.
Then you either have been dreadfully deprived of some of the best digital entertainment, or you're Todd Howard.
Why..? You already pay for PS+, which means you’re already paying for the monthly games. Might as well claim them.
You know the phrase “the ends justify the means”?
The problem isn’t the size per se but more that the size was the selling point and then it was implemented so poorly. At least in terms of gameplay. Exploring the many systems is neither particularly fun nor particularly rewarding. And it doesn’t tie in to the story. This isn’t a game about interplanetary exploration…
It was fine. It wasn’t great by any stretch of the imagination, but it was definitely better than people made out. Call it Saint’s Row: Andromeda.
Man, it’s too bad this happened AFTER the studio went under :/. That’s pretty cool though, that something like this can have such an effect on size of a player base.
ME3 was so bizarre because not only did they change facts of the ending, they basically rewrote what the theme of the whole narrative was supposed to be and it not only didn’t fit with the earlier two games, it literally didn’t fit with the themes of the activities you had just done.
Okay, so, as someone who has been a gamer literally my entire life (3 decades now!), and who has grown up being plugged into the internet... what are these angry fans everyone is suddenly talking about?
Of all forums I visit, of all the sites I hover, and from all the groups of friends I have, I have yet to hear anyone…
so might as well quiet them down for a year with the announcement
I’d say the launch PS3 was more of a Toyota Sienna with all the damn ports it had. 4 USB ports, SD card, Compact Flash, and Sony’s proprietary Memory Stick. The engine description is hilariously accurate though.
At the same time, MGS4 was designed for the PS3... which means it is probably going to be hell to port in the first place given that the console was the equivalent of a Kia Soul with an engine kitbashed from a Lamborghini and Stingray
